Jane's POV

"I don't get it... You were dead. We buried you. Sofia confirmed your death. You were shot! If it was like I don't know a lethal injection or a heart attack I would totally have an explain to why you are still alive but this? This is totally out of my pay grade. Explain now!"

"You do realize that you are the one tied to the chair here right? I'm the one who does the questions." I looked down to my hands tied and rolled my eyes. This was stupid it was not like I was going to attack him. Maybe a punch or two but he lied about being dead for almost two years and a half now. "Sofia is in danger."

"No shit Sherlock. You know I'm still your big sister so I demand some respect! Untie me."

"Jane I mean she is in really big danger. They already have someone. I need to know her friends, places she goes to."

"Well right now she is probably breaking Niall's heart for the second time. She's in our house, which is securely safe. It could be anyone, she goes to university now Jake."

"Right... forgot about Niall. How did that happen? He was a mission and then all of the sudden Sofia knows what love is? I thought he only had that effect on teenage girls."

"Technically she is still a teen. She's eighteen get it? They have history... It's complicated."

" I know about the whole best friends thing. It was so stupid of Jonathan to send her in that mission. The risk of Niall recognizing her or Sofia remembering was too high. Sometimes I think he did that on purpose... I think he had other plans for her. Maybe he thought it was going to stop her from going away. Maybe he thought she was going to feel the obligation to stay to protect him. That bastard."

"How do you know all this? Who are you working with Jake? How can you get a hold of all of this information? This is top secret it's not even on her file. We just know because Sofia actually remembered it all. How are you alive dammit?" I could feel my guards backing down, as much as I tried I couldn't stop it.

"Remember when we were younger, and we used to hide on top of the stairs so we could watch the grown up shows mum and dad used to watch? Sometimes our parents would fight and I kept asking you all this questions. And you said-"

"I'll answer one question and one only. Anything you want but you only have one question, then you go to bed." He leaned himself down so his face was at the same level as mine.

"Jane... You only have one question and one only. Anything you want but you only have one question. Then I'll take you home and you will forget about this encounter for a while. For you sake my dearest sister."

"Why? Why didn't you come back for me?" My voice broke down in the middle of the sentence, tears were rushing down my face and I could contain a sob. "How could you leave me thinking you were dead for almost two years and a half and not come to me, the one that was always the closest to you. Jake I entered depression! I cried for a year. And you know what was the worse? I couldn't tell anyone! You know why? BECAUSE MY ONLY BROTHER WASN'T HERE." I compose myself and wait for the answer. He has to give me an answer.

"Jane... I hate to know that I really do. You can't imagine how many times I almost ran back here. But there are more dangerous stuff going on. Stuff that is way out of our league. Not even Sofia's. With time everything will work out I promise. Now let's go I need to get you home."

It was the most silent ride of my life. He couldn't speak because of the guilt while I... I was too wounded to.

"I'm home." I yell to upstairs. I try my best to sound normal. It's not like I haven't done this before... I've pretended everything was ok before I can do it now too."
