A Different Kind of War

Matt and Jay

"Jesus Christ, Jay!" Matt says as they escape the mineshaft.
"That could have gone better," Jay says.
"Where's Mike?"
"I don't know, we got separated. I hope he's okay."
"Shit, I'm sure he's fine. It's Mike."
"Yeah, true. C'mon, we need to find Josh and get the hell out."

Matt and Jeremy walk into another portion of the mines, this one had a large pool of water.
"So, Hannah. She was the monster!" Matt says in disbelief.
"The thing had her tattoo and everything."
"Oh my god."
"Yeah, don't freeze to death in this," Jay says getting in the water.
Matt gets in, instantly cursing.
"God damn! I can't feel my fingers!" He says.
"Yeah, watch out for sharks," Jay says sarcastically.

They get out, finding a large metal door. Once Jay opens it, Emily and Chris's heads spill out.
"Holy shit!" Jay yells.
"What the fuck!" Matt says.
"That's Chris," Jay says pointing at his head.
"He really deserved better," Matt says.
"Yeah. I don't know if Ashley meant to or not."
"Mean to do what?"
"Kill him, she locked him out that's why I was trying to get to her before it killed him!"
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
"No, she did it on purpose."
"Why the fuck didn't you say anything?!"
"I don't know! It was a fucked up situation."
"Okay, let's just keep going," he says walking into the room.

They see the bodies of their dead friends and even the flamethrowe guy.
"I'm about to fucking puke!" Matt says.
"What the hell! That fucking thing is smarter than we thought."
"Oh my god, look!" Matt says. "It's Josh!"

Josh

"No! You don't control me!" He yells.
Josh was hallucinating, he was being scary things.
"No! Leave me alone! Why are you don't this!" He yells.
He sees his sister, Hannah.
"Why'd you want me to die?" She asks.
"I didn't want you to die! I love you!"
"We're all alone now, Josh. Family."
"No! No! NO!" 

Matt and Jay grab him, Matt slaps him to get him back to reality.
"Josh!" He yells.
"Matt, please don't hit me," he says.
"You were tripping out man," Jay says. "Josh, Hannah. She's the... She's the monster, dude."
"What?" He says confused.
"She was down here for years, alive."
"Oh god! I could have helped her! But I let her die!"
"No, Josh. It wasn't you. It was me, Mike, Jess, Emily and Ash," Matt says. "She couldn't ask for a better brother than you!"
"Thanks Matt, where are the others?"
"Josh, Chris didn't make it," Jay says.
"What? How, god damn it!" He says in an angry tone.
"I'm sorry man, but Sam's at the lodge right now! And she really wants to see you," Jay says touching his shoulder.

He gets up, looking at the rock wall infront of them.
"There's no way Josh is making it up there," Jay says.
"Yeah. If you boost me up there, I can tell the others we're safe."
"You sure, Matt?"
"I'll be fine, I've already had my classes," he says smiling.
"Alright, let's go," Jay says boosting Matt up.

Josh and Jeremy

"Let's go, Josh."
They walk through the room, Josh seeing the dead bodies.
"Chris! Emily!" He says, starting to tear up.
"I know, Josh. But we gotta go!" Jay says grabbing his arm.

They walk through the water, when Jeremy feels something touch his leg. Then he's dragged underwater. Josh sits there, still. That's when Hannah pops out of the water.

"No you're not real! No you're not!" He yells as she grabs him.
"Hannah!" He says.
She picks him up, recognizing him. She drags him back to the same room where his friends were. Jeremy watches from behind a rock as Josh is dragged father down into the mines.

Matt

Matt got out of the mines, walking to the lodge. That's when he hears the wendigo's screech. "Shit!" He says running to the lodge.
He gets to the door, but it's still locked from Ashley.
"Guys! Open up!" He yells. "Guys?"
He hears something behind him, he turns to see Jay.
"Matt, you alright?"
"Yeah, where's Josh?"
"She dragged him farther down."
"What an awful way to go."
"Yeah, break the glass," Jay says pointing at a rock.

Matt breaks and unlocks the door. They walk in, feeling the depressing feeling come through them.
"Where should we go?" Matt asks.
"Let's check the basement, maybe they're down there," Jay responds.

"How do you rate our chances of survival?" Matt asks as they walk in the cinema room.
"I'm trying not to think about it," Jay says.
They reach an open door, as they see Sam, Ash, Beth and Jessica running away.
"Run!" Sam yells as two wendigos come into frame.
Matt shuts the door, and him and Jay follow the others. That notice them all not moving. That's when they see it, Hannah. She was on the chandelier, stalking them.

"Don't move. Don't fucking move a  muscle!" Jay whispers to the group.
As the other wendigos come up the stairs, Hannah attacks one. Throwing it against the chimney, breaking a gas pipe. Jay looked at the pipe, the at a light. He knew what he had to do. He looked at Matt and Sam, who both nodded.

He mouthed to the others to get out. They started slowly leaving. Jay slowly walks towards the light switch. As Ashley and Jess escaped the lodge. He reached the switch, as Beth and Matt both got out. Now it was just him and Sam. He crushed the light bulb, as he gave a grunt with the pain of the glass impaling his skin.

Hannah approached him, knowing he had moved. That's when Sam yells at her. She turns around, screeching. Jay slowly inches towards the exit. That's when Sam accidentally moves, and Hannah picks her up. She impales Sam, making her scream. Her guys fall out as she hits the floor.

"Fuck!" Jay mutter as he runs to the light switch.
He flicks it, blowing up the whole lodge.
"Oh, fuck!!" He yells as he's shot into the snowy outside.
He gets up, seeing Matt hugging Jess, Ashley was sitting with her knees in her face. And Beth was rushing towards Jay.

"You did it, Jay!" She yells, hugging him.
"Sam," he mutters.
"I know," she says.
"Guys!" They hear a voice yell.
They turn to see Mike, with the wolf the stranger had behind him.
"Mike! You're okay!" Jay says.
"Where's Sam?" He asks.
"She, didn't make it out."
"Fuck!" He yells.

They hear helicopters, they look up to see three of them. Mike waves his hands, despite the fact that they had already seen them. They land as everyone gets on. But Jay is hesitate.

"Josh!" He says.
"What about him?!" Beth asks.
"The thing didn't kill him! He's still alive! We need to get him!"
"Jay we can't go back down there!" Jess says.
"Well we can't leave him down there either! Come on!"

The group had a long pause, before the helicopter pilot interrupted them.
"Make you your minds! Whoever goes back I'll be back in an hour!"
"Jay's right, I'm going back," Matt says getting off the chopper.
"No, Matt he did this to all of us!" Jess says.
"I don't care I'm going!"
"I'll go too," Mike says, getting off.
"Beth?" Jay asks looking at her.
"I'm sorry, Jay. I can't go back down there."
"It's okay," he says.

"Here, use these," the pilot says handing them supplies. They all took a shotgun, and Matt took the flaregun since he was so experienced with them.
"You got one hour till I get back," the pilot says taking off.

"Alright boys, let's rock and roll," Jay says, and they run into the woods.
