Chapter 10: Hide and Seek

Heira

I tried escaping, but I failed. He tried it, too, but he also failed. I don't know what will happen to us. Who knows, maybe we'll die.

He kept us away from each other and left us behind these cells.

I also tried calling him, but he's too far away for me to be heard. I don't know where Secpfra took us. But I am sure this place is more far away from our city.

I cried in frustration, I miss my family, my friends. Argh.

"Heira, Heira..." I heard him again, calling my name for his happiness, tsk.

"What if I tried to kill you both, will it increase my sins?"

Is he insane?! Why is he asking me those stupid things, well, obviously! Duh.

I was captivated by the scent of the other man infront of me. Dwayne, you're back.

"Freak. Obviously, Secpfra" pairap kong sagot at naghalukipkip.

Natawa siya sa inakto ko kaya sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. I'll try showing him I'm not scared because he's now holding Dwayne as a bait.

"I call it, your life of hide and seek. For the first round, I will be the seeker, you will hide for two days. And if I find you, I'll choose one from the both of you or from your family and friends then.. do everything I wanted to do with them! Easy and great, right?"

Pumalakpak pa siya sa lagay na yon. Ah! So gusto niya talaga ng laro?!

"But with a twist" his lips suddenly curved and formed into a wide smile. "Lalaban kayo. Defend yourselves. But let your ears open and listen carefully from your back to your sides, baka hindi niyo alam, nasa tabi niyo lang ang maaaring kumuha sainyo. If I caught one, then I'll give you a chance to live your life freely without my harm"

He call this game?! I know his tactics! He'll kill us! Both! Or worst, baka idamay niya pa ang pamilya namin!

Pero may naisip ako. B-baka mabago ko pa ang isip niya, diba? Hindi naman siguro imposible yon.

"Oh, come one, Secpfra! That's a total pathetic old game! Bakit hindi mo ibahin?" I smirked as I saw his smile vanished.

"What do you mean, change?" He asked, this time, he's serious. I know his game is important to him. Matagal na niya iyon ginagawa. My memories are back, right?

"What if, kami ang seeker, ikaw ang magtatago? But, let me say, we'll all be the killers in this game. The second game of life" habang may ngisi na hindi maialis-alis sa mukha ko, pinagmasdan ko ang seldang kinukulong kami dito sa isang malawak na silid.

His eyes were now like furious ones. Nakakatakot na pagmasdan. Tila hindi nagustuhan ang sinabi ko. But at the same time, he smiled a little.

"That's new! How about you, Dwayne? Any suggestions?"

I tried looking at Dwayne's cell, but there's no bulb or even candles to light his cell. Urgh. I badly wanted to see him! Pero amoy lang niya ang tanging nakakapagsabing nandito siya!

"Dwaaayne ~~" binuksan ni Secpfra ang ilaw ng kwarto. Ngayon, hindi na lang ang ilaw ng cell ko ang kita, naglalaban na ang ilaw ng silid at ng selda ko.

And there I saw him, Dwayne, he's all black. What the?

"What did you do?!" Napatayo na ako sa magkakahalong emosyon. Ni hindi ako binalingan ng tingin ni Secpfra at lumapit lang sa selda ni Dwayne. Pumasok siya don. Inalis niya ang nakatakip na itim na tela sa mukha ni-- oh crap! Oh crap!!

"Dwayne!!!" I screamed out his name. "You! You stupid jerk! Wake up!!" Pilit kong kinakalampag ang selda ko para magingay at magising siya.

Tinawanan lang ako ni Secpfra at tinignan na para bang diring-diri. The moment I was in his little house, I thought he changed. But that was just a stupid expectation.

"Let's start the game. Two days, Heira, two days to hide. After that, go back here. Huwag na huwag kang magdadala ng kahit na anong devices at kahit na sinong taong kakilala mo. Only yourself. Okay, okay. I'll give Dwayne a chance. Isasama mo siya. You two, hide yourselves. 1 hour, paaalisin ko na kayo dito"

Lumabas na siya pero bago yon, "two. Days. Only, Heira Liza"

Then he left. I tried opening the cell and it worked. Kay. 1 hour and the game starts.

Dwayne, please cooperate.

It's been days but Heira is still missing. No clues or signs. Even the guy na naghahanap kay heira sa stage nung ball ay nawawala.

What's happening? Why are you guys missing? Is there something we have to know, Heira? Is there someone we don't know?
