Magic exists. I lost hope in magic a long time ago. My name is Skye Hatira and my dream is to gain emotion. In this world, in between the ages of four to thirteen, A child is emotionless. They would experience something tragic and that would trigger a certain emotion. That emotion combined with your main personality trait would give you a unique ability. If you're emotionless after turning thirteen, you're considered outcast and will be unable to gain any form of magic. I'm currently twelve and still show no promise to have emotions. My brother, Tyler on the other hand, he was eight when he showed emotion, six when he lost his best friend.

I sighed and left the house, my gold-brown hair falling in front of my eyes. It felt odd not seeing its original color. Tyler fell in step next to me, looking frustrated.

"Why does School have to start now? I wanted to sleep the day away!" He grumbled. I looked at him blankly. He and I were starting our first year at Carah Junior Academy. New school, New bullies. That's what it was like at our old school.

"Out of the way! I'm late!" Some sort of force pushed us apart as a kid rushed past us, wearing the Carah Academy uniform. Seconds passed, and the boy tripped and fell on his face. I looked at Tyler and as expected, He looked satisfied.

"Did you have to trip him?" I asked him. The sadist fixed his hat and looked at me, pouting.

"What's the fun in it if I wasn't allowed to trip him?"

"You're making me look bad, using your luck like that," My hair fell over my eyes again.

"A Luck user!" The kid exclaimed, sitting up, Brown eyes shining. His cheek had a small graze on it but other than that, he looked fine. Tyler looked at the boy with a dead expression as I rummaged through my bag, pulling out a cloth and a bandage, plus my water bottle. I rushed over to him, feeling the need to help him, especially after what Tyler did.

"Is it that much of a big deal?" Tyler shoved his hands inside of his jacket pocket, watching me treat to the boy. After putting on the bandage, I helped him up, forcing a smile before collecting my bag.

"You're emotionless, aren't you?" The sudden question made me tense up.

"Unfortunately," I replied simply. He fell silent, obviously regretting what he just said. I just stared ahead blankly as I continued walking to school. Tyler got bored and was far ahead of us.

"Fly," I stopped and turned towards him. "My name is Fly," He repeated to me.

I blinked, staring at him. "I'm Skye," I turned away and continued walking. "Are you coming or are you just going to stand there like a paralyzed rat? We're late as it is,"

"Right! I forgot we even had school! We should hurry!"
