Chapter 4

           

I sat, bored, in the cafeteria, the soft whirr of water in my ears. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked at my friend, who was staring at my tray hungrily.

"Are you going to eat that?" He asked. I sighed, pushing the tray towards him.

"You can have it," I laughed, glancing over at the boy. Okotta is a fast eater, surprisingly.

"Did you see the new kids? The twins?" I glanced at him confused. Why bring them up now?

"Yeah, what about them?"

"Don't you think that the boy was kinda... cute?" I looked at Okotta, dumbfounded. Is he seriously into a demon?

"He's kinda scary... Did you see what he did to Kowai?" Okotta peered over his food, looking at me quizzically.

"Don't you find that cute..?" He spoke with his mouth full. Gross. I saw him perk up, his pack straitening and a light blush dusting his cheeks. He tapped me hurriedly on the shoulder. "Kazashi! There he is!" I followed his gaze out of curiosity and saw the redheaded giant being dragged along by his tiny, brown haired sister, followed by someone we didn't expect to see.

"He hangs out with the pyromantic wannabee, sorry Otta, your chances have lessened," I glance over at him to find his face frozen in shock. Or is that Disgust? A loud bang echoed through the room as Kowai's fist hit the table, in between where Okotta and I are sitting. We both jumped in surprise as the boy chuckled at our reactions.

"Oh Okotta, you hopeless romantic," Kowai laughed. "Do you even know the name of your hunk?" I could see the color drain from Okotta's face.

"No," I stated, causing him to punch me in the shoulder.

"Kazashi! I thought you had my back!" He whined. Kowai's smile is creepier than usual. He has another stupid plan.

"If I beat Skye, Her brother is bound to join our group and fall for Okotta..." Kowai mumbles to himself. Of course. Kowai runs off.

"Kowai no!" Okotta yells. No use, he's already putting his plan into action.
