The bell rang. I stood up and left the classroom, waiting for Skye at the door. I wonder, what is it like in an emotionless mind? I tapped into the girl's mind and all I could see was emptiness. The darkness swirled around me, choking me, suffocating me. A scream, a flash of silver, then silence.
"Fly!" I snapped out of her mind to find the tiny brunette looking up at me, her round eyes dull. "You tapped into my mind. I could feel you. Don't do it again, there's nothing to see,"
"I already know there's nothing to see," I mumbled to myself. Skye slung her bag over her shoulder, taking a few steps before looking around.
"Where the heck is the cafeteria?" I perked up.
"Two lefts then a right then down the_"
"Shut up or I'll get Tyler to decrease your luck by 100%"
"I'm sorry!" I shrieked, hearing laughter erupt from behind me.
"You scream like a girl! Just like our cousin Nori!" Tyler's face was red from laughing too much.
"Stop laughing Tyler, soon we won't be able to tell your face from your hair," Skye said bluntly, punching the giant in the shoulder. He glared at his sister in anger, giving her a tiny shove which broke out into a small fist fight. Punch, dodge, kick then punch again. Skye leaped back, dodging Tyler's punch, bringing her right hand up in a fist. I felt panic flood through Tyler's mind as he lunged forward to grab her wrist.
"No Skye!" The twins stopped fighting and I sighed in relief. Fear pulsed off Tyler in waves, overwhelming me. I looked at Skye's wrist to see what he was panicking about and noticed a gray, plastic bracer.
"What's that?" I asked. Tyler's heart stopped for a brief second and they both snapped their heads to me. Tyler's eyes were wide, and he seemed speechless. He let go of his sister's wrist.
"It's a bracer. I was born with a weak wrist and I can't bent it further than this allows me," She bent her wrist back until it hit the bracer. "It causes me serious pain if it bends further," It seemed legit, but Tyler's emotions seemed off. Why was he fearful if that was the reason? "Tyler hates obvious questions, especially if it relates to my wrist," I looked up at her shocked. "A baby could tell what you were thinking. Stop being surprised. I'm hungry,"
