"Alex! You're going to be late for school!" Alex heard his dad yell from downstairs.

Exhausted and drained, he got out of bed and got ready for school. He looked into the mirror noticing how tired he looked. He sighed but then broke a smile. He was tired but his late night made the tiredness all worth it. He made his way downstairs and ate a bowl of cereal.

"Tired?" His dad chuckled.

"Exhausted. But it's worth it." He smiled.

"I'd hope so. I thought you'd never stop singing." His dad laughed.

"It's hard to leave the stage." He beamed. "I'm going to be late, so I'm going to go. Have a great day, dad." He hugged his dad before leaving.

Alex West was his birth name. Alex went to school, did homework, played baseball, he was a regular teenage boy. But he had a secret. Alex is actually Shawn Mendes, the biggest teen celebrity in the United States. The secret was hard to keep but he did it, and he loved it. He wanted to be normal but he also wanted to be a singing sensation.

"Hey baby." He smiled as he met his girlfriend by her locker.

"Hi honey! I had a surprise for you last night, I drove by but no one was home." She said, sadly.

"Oh I'm sorry, it was my dads birthday so we went out for dinner." He lied. He was becoming a pro at thinking of lies on the spot to keep his secret. It was difficult keeping such a huge secret to his girlfriend of 1 year. She deserved the truth but he couldn't tell her.

"What's the surprise?" He asked, excited and confused.

She pulled 2 tickets from her back pocket. "We're going to see Shawn Mendes!!" She yelled, overjoyed.

Shawn's face went cold. His secret. How could he keep this from her now? He couldn't be two places at once. Or could he?

"Alex?" She questioned, noticing his face.

"I'm speechless!" He said with fake excitement but in reality he was terrified his secret was going to come out.

"This is going to be so much fun!" She yelled, jumping into his arms to give him a hug.

"Alex, there is no way you can pull this off." His dad shook his head as Alex told him his plan. He was going to take multiple breaks so he can take off his disguise and be with his girlfriend.

"Well, I can't tell her the secret either so I have to do this." He said, frustrated. The secret had never been a problem. It had it's pros and cons but mostly it was a great thing. But it just became a lot harder to maintain.

"Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for Shawn Mendes!"

The crowd went crazy as Alex walked on stage.

"How you all doing tonight?" He bellowed into the microphone. The crowd screamed in response. "This first song is the song that kick started my career and I hope you all enjoy. Sing along if you know it." He began strumming Life Of The Party.

"Thank you. I'll be right back." He said into the microphone before running off the stage. He took off his wig and put his glasses on and went into to the crowd to find his girl.

"Hey, sorry that line was so long." He huffed.

"Alex, you don't have anything." She replied, confused.

"Right, I just gave up on waiting and came back." He lied.

"He's been on break for awhile and it's after one song. I'm not really impressed with his live show." She said.

"I'm going to go check on the line again. I'll be right back!" Alex said while getting up and leaving.

"Hurry, he'll be back on soon!" She yelled through the arena as he left.

This went on for 4 more songs. Break after break. His fans were getting frustrated and so was his girlfriend. He was upset with himself for having to go through all of this just to keep a secret.

He exited the stage once again, running into the hall, he ripped his wig off, and put his glasses on. He heard a shocked gasp.

"Alex?"

He turned around to see his very shocked girlfriend.

"Y/n, it's not what it looks like!" He spat out.

"Really? So you're not actually Shawn Mendes?"

"Okay, it is what it looks like."

She shook her head.

"I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, I've never told anyone, and I couldn't risk the secret getting out." He rushed out trying to fix the mess he made.

"So you didn't trust me to keep your secret?" She asked, shocked.

"No, of course I did! I just- I- I don't know how to explain it. I have to get back out there. Please forgive me, I'm so sorry." He said while putting the wig back on and taking the glasses back off.

"Thank you all so much, you were a great audience!" He said into the microphone before leaving the stage for the last time tonight.

"Hey." Y/n was standing backstage waiting for him.

"Hey, I figured you would have left." He replied, sadly.

"I did. But I came back. I'm sorry I reacted like that."

"No, you had every right to act like that, you shouldn't have found out this way, I should have told you sooner. I was just scared I wouldn't be able to be Shawn anymore." He replied.

"Your secret is safe with me, I promise." She beamed at him.

"I love you." Alex smiled at her.

"I love you." She replied as she embraced him for a hug.
