Mysterion walked to the window, looking at the town outside. The town. Their home. "Since the police can't help, we have to. We have to help these people. I say we search the town for any clues about who is behind this."
"Do you think it's..." Tweek didn't want to say anything more. He continued to tremble, yanking at his hair.
"Tweek, it's okay."
CC grabbed Tweek's hand to get him to stop yanking on his hair. He sighed, but he managed to relax. "What are we looking for again..? He asked, trembling slightly.
"Looking for clues, right?" Karen asked.
"Yeah, so we can figure out who the culprit is." Mysterion stated bluntly as he walked over to one of the corpses. He lightly kicked it in the side as if looking for something underneath. "Tweek?" Mysterion asked.
Tweek looked up at him. He realized what Mysterion was wondering, so he spoke before Mysterion had the chance to ask: "I was thinking it was Professor Chaos for a minute..."
"It can't be... we haven't seen Butters in years. Even so, he wouldn't do something like this." Mysterion glanced out the window again. Would he?
"Well then," Coon started looking from Mysterion to Tweek. "You wanna go see Butters?"
"Mysterion, how do you know?!" Tweek huffed, trembling. "He could be back in business, working with other people, probably setting up his lair right now!"
"Yeah, I fucking know that! I'm not an idiot!" Mysterion looked over at Karen, then at everyone else. "Let's go over there right now and see for ourselves." He then walked out without another word, everyone else following suit.
Noah wrote out a list of things that he and Chaos would need. "I'll be back in a few minutes," Noah calls out to Butters.
Chaos smiles at Noah. "Okie dokie! I'll be waiting here, then! Don't worry, I'm patient, so I won't rush ya!" He chuckled going back to work on the equipment.
Noah ran out of the lair, heading to nearby stores to get the items they need. A few minutes later, he returns to the lair with a few bags in his hands.
Chaos sighed as he leaned against the wall, taking off his helmet. He stared at the ceiling, rubbing his eyes. "I can't believe I am doing this... Everyone's going to hate me even more I bet. Maybe I should just... Be a good guy for once and not try to rule everything." He mumbled to himself, looking at the helmet in his hands. "Will everyone really dislike me if I do this..?" He painfully thought to himself. He jumped when he saw Noah, quickly putting his helmet back on. "O-Oh, welcome back Noah!"
Noah gave him a questioning look. "Is everything alright? Did you just have your helmet off??"
Chaos stammered painfully, "Yes- I-I mean- no- I- m-maybe uh-" He rubbed the back of his neck, glancing at the floor and at Noah.
"Calm down... what's wrong?" He asked as he stepped closer. He leans next to him, attempting to comfort him.
Chaos stared at the ground. "I just- I miss a friend, that's all..." He spoke softly, stuttering a bit. He missed Kenny.
Noah felt lost on what to say or what to do. But before he could do anything at all, Chaos looked up, obviously startled.
Chaos froze. "I- I hear someone- o-oh jeez- " He moved quickly, closing the entrance to the lair and locking it. "We aren't finished fixing the lair yet!" He whispered-yelled to himself, dropping to the ground.
Outside in front of the towering fence, the Freedom Pals had arrived.
A few minutes beforehand, Mysterion, Wonder Tweek, CC, and Karen were making their way to Professor Chaos' Lair.
All six of the heroes who were taking part should've been there. However, Coon had to, as he put it, take care of other hero stuff, and Super Craig had seemingly disappeared with the injured civilians. Tweek trembled, gripping on to CC and whimpering.
Karen broke the silence then, her voice riddles with impatience, "Are we nearly there yet?"
CC turns to Karen and smiles. "Don't worry, we are almost there," she cooed gently before turning her attention back to Tweek.
Mysterion kept walking as if he heard nothing. He was muttering to himself, his words barely audible: "Butters wouldn't do that, he would never kill innocent people... sure, he comes up with sinister schemes, but nothing as serious as this..."
CC's ears flattened with a sigh as she looked over at Mysterion. The others couldn't hear him, but she could. She moved away from Tweek for a moment to Mysterion. "Hey, are you alright?" She asked, so quiet that only he could hear her.
Mysterion flinched a bit, only glancing at CC for a second. "I-I'm fine. Just thinking." He didn't want to talk; he made such a fact quite clear.
Before CC could say anything more, Karen piped up again. "Ugh, it feels like we've been walking for HOURS," She whined, slouching for second as if to dramatize her statement. "Don't any of you know how to drive?!"
CC ignored Karen, insistent on trying to help Mysterion. "This is about Butters, isn't it?" she whispered. Instead of responding to her, though, he turned to Karen. "If you want, I can take you home. There might be trouble up ahead, and the last thing I want is for you to get hurt."
"No, no, I want to stay and help! Just wish we had a car..." Karen muttered off, turning her attention towards the pavement.
CC felt hurt for him changing the subject, causing her expression to harden. She went back over to Tweek, her tail swaying back and forth in an irritated fashion.
"Yes, Karen, walking can be quite tiring," Mysterion started before realizing where they were. "We're here." Before the four of them loomed the Chaos Lair. Mysterion took a few steps towards the entrance, scanning the area for any henchmen standing guard. Karen stared in amazement at the Lair; even though it was all still scraps and junk, it looked menacing.
CC stepped forward, her arm linked with Tweek's. "Alright, it's time to pay the Professor a visit."
