CC moved forward to the fence, scaling it quickly and landing on all fours on the other side. Tweek, Mysterion, and Karen followed, with Mysterion catching Karen bridal style. CC kept low to the ground as she moved toward the lair. There was anger and hurt in her eyes, her mind still focused on Mysterion. "Focus on the task," she muttered to herself. They all had to focus.
Tweek followed close behind, crouching not so gracefully. He glanced around nervously. He didn't want them all to get ambushed. Mysterion followed right behind Tweek, holding Karen's hand. Mysterion looked around, not as nervously as Tweek. He remembered the last time he had been there in 4th grade and winced. He hated the thought and hoped that Butters wasn't there.
CC stopped, the sudden halt causing the others to nearly walk into her. She raises a hand as if to silence them. Her ears twitched. Then, as suddenly as she stopped, she started moving again, now running towards the lair. She kept low as she made her way to the entrance, her ears still and completely upright.
Mysterion moved forward first, dragging Karen with him towards CC. As he got closer, he began to hear what she had. Crying. He began to move faster, fearing he knew exactly who the sound belonged to.
Tweek hurried to keep up with the three, his eyes continuing to dart around. A part of him feared that it was a trap, but at the same time, he didn't know. Remembering it was Butters brought him to a conclusion, though: Butters' wouldn't set a trap like this, whether he was Chaos or not. Tweek sighed softly as he caught up with Mysterion and Kenny.
CC made it to the entrance and quietly scaled the wall of the building. The roof was ruined with holes, most likely from previous battles and years of abandonment, making it easy to see inside. She scans the main room, noticing immediately that it had been in use. The room had been, for the most part, cleaned, and new electronics had been placed alongside plastic bags filled with appliances yet to be added. After a few moments of looking around, she spotted what she was looking for. Or, moreover, WHO she was looking for: Chaos.
At that moment, a presence crouched next to her. Mysterion looked into the building right at Professor Chaos, a grimace forming plainly on his lips. He watched as Chaos sat near the entrance, crying into his gloves. A boy he didn't recognize sat with Chaos, hugging him. Mysterion cursed under his breath and quickly backed away. He jumped off the roof back down to Tweek and Karen, CC soon following.
"Well?" Tweek asked, still glancing around for minions.
"It's Chaos, he's crying. There is someone with him, but I don't recognize him at all," CC stated, looking at the entrance of the lair. Mysterion simply nodded as he looked down at the ground.
"Who is it with Butters, Mysterion?" Karen asked, hugging herself despite the warmth of the day.
"I don't know," he muttered, with a slight hint of anger in his voice. "But I think it is quite obvious now that Butters was not responsible for what happened at the police station." He still had his head down, refusing to look at any of them in fear of losing his cool.
CC turns back to the others with a sigh. She moves over to Tweek, placing an arm around him. She looked at Mysterion before starting to speak, "We should go inside, figure out what is going on." She was still upset at Mysterion for his earlier refusal to talk, but she gave up on caring. They needed to figure out what was happening.
Mysterion nodded again. Karen looked between the two before nodding as well. "Then let's go, guys. We should hurry, before any more bad things happen."
"...I don't recognize him at all." Noah started at the sound, realizing they were not alone. "Fuck..." he whispered, not wanting to freak out Chaos. He stared at the entrance, trying to think of a plan.
Chaos looked up at Noah, then at the door. He could hear the heroes now too. He pushed Noah away from him and stood. He walked nervously over to the door, adjusting the gloves on his hands shakily. "We can't just sit here..." he whispered, wiping away his tears. He opened the hatch on the door and yelled out menacingly, "WHO DARES TO TRESPASS PROFESSOR CHAOS' LAIR?!"
The four heroes jumped when Chaos yelled. They all turned to the entrance, noticing immediately the sudden opening in the large door. Karen looks at Mysterion, then at CC, mouthing "What should we say?"
Chaos didn't wait long for a reply, slamming his fist on the door in anger. "WELL?! SPIT IT OUT, FREEDOM FUCKS!"
CC moved between Tweek and Karen, putting an arm around each protectively. Karen hugged her back, fearful thoughts racing through her mind. Tweek shrieked at Chaos' yelling, his legs buckling slightly at the sound.
"We aren't here to fight, Chaos!" She yelled back, her voice level. Inside she was nervous, though; this could get violent.
Suddenly, the gate opened, the sound of Chaos' chuckling filling the air. The four backed up as minions flooded out. CC gaped in confusion. She hadn't seen them before on the roof! Her expression quickly turned into anger as she saw Chaos, who stood smirking with his hands on his hips. "Kill you? I would never!" he laughed again. His next words chilled them all to their very bones.
"Trust me, I have much different plans for you all."
