Jealousy

Yugi had walked (name) to his place "grandpa?" Yugi called out. Almost instantly the elderly man stood up from behind the register "Oh hello Yugi. Who do you have there?" He asked looking at the taller girl behind him. Yugi smiled and turned to (name) "her name is (name) and she's from Egypt. She was brought to the hospital and got discharged today- although she has no place to go" Yugi frowned. (Name) rubbed her arm looking around seeing shiny packs in the shapes of rectangles.

Yugi's grandpa smiled in understanding "I see. Well, welcome to Japan! We have a guest room in the back so you can use that one" Yugi's grandpa said with a kind smile. (Name) nodded her head bowing to show her respect and gratitude. Yugi led her to the back where he showed her the guest room.

"If you want, we can walk around the mall today or tomorrow to find you more clothes or things you'll need to make you more comfortable."

Yugi offered. (Name) thought for a minute thinking of a time that would be best. After a minute or two, (name) decided "let's go tomorrow so you have time to show me around."

Yugi nodded at (name)'s suggestion "alright!"  Yugi smiled. A knock was heard at the door as Yugi's grandpa appeared "(name), I'm deciding to send you to Yugi's school if that's ok" Yugi's grandpa offered. With no hesitation the Egyptian answered "that'd be great!" (Name) smiled. Yugi smiled as well saying how the school could teach her a lot of stuff he hasn't taught her yet.

Yugi's grandpa nodded his head making his way out of the room to fill out some registration forms. (Name) sat on the bed feeling her legs to be tired. Maybe all of the walking after waking up 5000 years later was a bit much. With realization, (name) looked at Yugi "where's Yami?" She asked and Yugi froze in his spot not expecting her to ask a question like that. 

"Tell her I'm at work or something." 

Yami spoke to Yugi feeling his distress. Yugi nodded his head and smiled nervously "Yami's at work at the moment" "when will he be back?" Once again, Yugi was stuck. Yugi knew he had to think of something and fast. Finally, Yugi decided with a quick excuse "oh that's right, he's sleeping over at Joey's tonight" Yugi lied. 

(Name) tilted her head with confusion seeing how nervous Yugi looked. But why? Letting out a yawn, (name) looked out the window seeing that the sky had just turned to and orange-red-blueish color "Yugi, is it ok if I go walk for a bit. I'll just look for this building and ask anyone to help me come back if needed" (name) told Yugi. 

Yugi shrugged his shoulders "that's alright. I'll make some dinner while you're gone then" (name) smiled thanking Yugi before walking out of the room and soon the building. The soft summer breeze brushed against her cheek carrying her hair along with it. 

With a content sigh, (name) began walking around to wherever her feet wanted to take her not realizing that she had caught someone's eyes. (Name) looked around at all the shops and all they held inside.

"Excuse me, miss."

(Name) turned around seeing a man with magenta hair and orange eyes "yes?" (Name) answered. The man seemed nice and nothing seemed too off about him "I noticed you were walking around alone. You know, a lady shouldn't be walking around alone in case bad men are out and about."

(Name) thought about it and sure enough, it made sense "yeah, ok" she said plainly with a smile. The man smiled as well reaching out his hand "my name is Arai Ryuzake. It's a pleasure to meet you..." the man named Arai looked at (name) realizing he didn't know her name.

"(Name). (Name) (last). It's nice to meet you to Ryuzake-san."

Arai nodded his head "Arai is just fine" he said. (Name) nodded her head with a small and awkward smile "ok." She said.

"When adressing someone for the first time you have to use their last name and -san at the end to show respect ok?"

Yep, that's what Yugi told her to do.

Now as the two walked together they found themselves talking about each other.

"So you're Egyptian?"

Arai asked and (name) nodded simply "how did you get here?" That was a question (name) wondered herself. How did she get here?  "I'm not really sure. I don't have any memories up until I woke up at the hospital" (name) explained. 

Arai nodded his head understandingly "that's alright, I just hope you weren't kidnapped or anything" Arai chuckled nervously and (name) giggled. (Name) looked at a window hearing a mysterious sound. Behind the window there was a music box with small, various colored roses decorating the pastel mint green box. 

"First time seeing a music box?" 

Arai asked noticing the teens's interest in the small and cute box. (Name) didn't break her gaze from the box "music box? That's pretty self explanatory, it's really cute though" (name) said with a gentle smile. Arai smiled and had an idea "let's go inside and I'll buy it for you" he said making (name) snap back at him with panic.

In no time at all, Arai was already inside talking to an attendant about the price of the box. (Name)'s mind raced as her eyes became dizzy by her intense thinking of the price 'it might be 500 pieces of gold or maybe 1000 pieces!' (Name) placed her hands on her head tragically. 

"Um... (Name)-chan?" 

(Name) turned around seeing Arai with the music box in a paper bag "here" Arai stretched out his hands. (Name) didn't know wether to take it or not "is something wrong (name)-chan? If you're worried about the price then don't worry, it was only $10" Arai explained hoping (name) would calm down. 

Not knowing how present day money worked, (name) just took it that it was ok since Arai seemed content with the price. (Name) took the paper bag and thanked Arai for his consideration. Having the music box made (name) smile since it was her first musical gift in the last 5000 years. 

A soft but wide smile bloomed out onto (name)'s face "thanks Arai" (name) said. Arai felt his chest tighten as his face flushed but he pushed the blush down and cleared his throat "anything for a foreigner" he rubbed the back of his neck before beginning to walk (name) home.

When the two arrived in front of the game shop, thanks to (name) telling him where she was staying, they waved goodbye while wishing each other a good night. (Name) walked inside the shop and smelt something delicious. 

Following the smell she walked into the kitchen where Yugi had finished setting up the table with his grandpa "hey (name)! You're just in time" Yugi smiled and Yugi's grandpa nodded his head "did you enjoy your walk?" He asked and (name) nodded her head with her smile "yes, it was fun" noticing the bag, Yugi asked about the item inside. 

"Oh, it's a music box."

"YOU STOLE A MUSIC BOX?!"

(Name) laughed whole heartingly "no! I met a friend and he bought it for me" (name) explained. Yugi nodded his head and voiced a simple "oh" as the feeling of Yami's jealousy filled him "she let another man buy something for her? I bet this is that thing called 'hitting on a girl' that Joey and Tristan were talking about"  Yami pouted making Yugi chuckle. 

The three in the kitchen began to eat as they talked about plans for tomorrow and whatnot. (Name) complemented Yugi's cooking multiple time saying how it tasted different from Egypt and the hospital making Yugi smile with gratitude. When they finished their meal Yugi had begun to teach (name) how to wash the dishes which led to a suds fight.

The two howled with laughter filling the room with their joyous sound not noticing Yami's jealousy. First the random guy she met on the streets and now it was Yugi. His own reincarnation. But then again, if Yami looked closely, it looked like a heartwarming scene of a  mother and son playing together. There might not be a reason for his jealousy against his own reincarnation.
