Only the sound of screeching metal can be heard as I come to consciousness. Upon opening my eyes, I realize that I am trapped in a large metal crate, barreling upwards. I begin to squint in order to see my surroundings in the darkness of the crate I find myself in. Crates upon crates of unlabeled supplies, all with a large stamp reading "W.I.C.K.E.D." The box suddenly shudders to a stop, throwing me back into the corner. I sit in the box, unmoving, until the top of the crate opens with a bang, allowing bright light to filter in. A shadowed boy with a mop of messy hair comes into view at the opening of the crate, next thing I know, he's hopped in next to me.

"It's a girl!" he exclaims, met with a slew of undiscernible mutters coming from near the box. "Bring her up, Newt. She's been in there long enough, man." a deep voice responds. The boy with the deep voice reaches a hand down towards me for me to grab as I attempt to gracefully haul myself out of the crate. I did, in fact, not get out of the box with grace. I stumbled out with the grace level of a drunk raccoon. The scrappy boy helps me up, and turns to look at me again, with a polite-looking smile stretched across his face. "Hi there, the names Newt. You remember anything yet?" I pause for a minute, trying to remember something- anything about my past or why I could possibly be here, but come up empty. "No, where am I?"

"This here," he says proudly while motioning around us, "is the Glade. I'm sure your name will come to you soon enough. Until then, you'll be called Greenie. It's somthin' all the new boys gotta go though- well I guess now boys and girl," he says offering another smile. "Now, let's get you introduced to the others, shall we?" I finally start to look around and take in my surroundings. I notice a few wooden shacks, a small building that appeared to be a kitchen, a wooden structure in the middle of the main clearing, and an insanely tall rock wall with a large gate that appeared to surround the entire area.

I continue turning, watching as more and more people begin to gather around me, staring at me with wide eyes. I notice, confused, that there is not a single girl other than me as far as I can tell. Some of the boys stare in awe, some glare at me in suspicion, and some are still snickering at my terrible attempt at getting out of the box. All of the boys, though are sweaty and caked in dirt. "Nice to meet you, Greenie," a voice chimes up from behind me, making me turn to look at the speaker. "The names Alby, welcome to the Glade."

I back away from the boy, lightly glaring at him in suspicion. "Why am I here? How did I even get to this place?" Alby looks at me wearily, as if I may run off light a frightened rabbit at any second. He hesitates before beginning to answer my questions, "It's a long story. None of us know why, but you, me, and every other shank here comes up in a box every month along with fresh supplies and a new greenie. This time, it was you. Worst of all, were stuck here with no way out of this damn place."

A though suddenly pops into my head. A name,  Charlie. Then everything goes black.
