We pulled up to Sadie's place and the smell of pot and desperate senior guys filled the air. Katie's smile got bigger the closer we got to a parking spot.
"Oooo I can feel the music already!"
"You sure that's not the roofie waiting to go in your drink?"
She rolled her eyes and parked the car. As I got out I had one mission in mind. Find Lux. I walked up to the door and four tall guys were standing there with what looked like a paint bucket.
"Ten bucks in the bucket."
I pulled out my wallet and rolled my eyes. Ten bucks? Shit for all that alcohol that's nothing! I put my money in the bucket and walked through the doors. If it didn't smell like weed before it sure as hell does now. Immediately a guy approached me visually drunk out of his mind.
"Well hey there sexy! Want a drink?"
"I'll pass." I shrugged his hand off of my shoulder and tried to walk away. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to him.
"Hey there! I asked if you wanted a drink! You don't turn me down!"
"How bout you let her go."
A familiar voice said. I looked up from his grasp and I almost fucking puked. It was Lux. She was standing in front of me. Not only that but she was trying to defend me!
Oh god I'm gonna be sick
"Sorry Lux didn't know you had a fellow fag to take care of."
The guy walked away and she walked over to me slowly. Her long black hair swaying behind her.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Y..yeah I..I.."
I..I What the fuck brain let me talk!
She just chuckled and handed me a cup.
"Let's go put something in that and get this party started huh?"
She grabbed my hand and leaded me to the kitchen. What the hell was happening? Was this real life? What the fuck? She turned around and handed me a bottle of Bacardi.
"Something to take a little edge off." She smiled pouring it in my cup.
"You look really nice tonight Koda." She smiled. She was being genuine, and really really sweet. I smiled looking down at my shoes shaking my head.
"Thank you, but no."
She placed her hand on my arm and I looked up into her ice blue eyes.
"Hey,"
She smiled,
"You look beautiful."
There it was. The butterflies in my stomach. The feeling that I was going to throw up everywhere. She made me feel like I couldn't use my words that I've known my whole life. She took them right out of my mouth.
"Come on, let's go sit outside and talk. It's really loud in here."
I walked to the back of the house and out the sliding glass door. We sat on the back porch and talked for what felt like hours. Finally she looked at me seriously.
"So....are you?" She stuttered.
Am I?
"Am I what?"
"You know"
I looked at her confused and she cleared her throat.
"Gay..."
