"No, father. This is who I am and this is who I want to be. I'm 16 years old, I know but... I know that what I'm doing is right. Please, do not try to stop me... Please, this is my request."
"Request? Did you just say 'request'?"
"Yes, father."
"Why has your confidence gone so high lately? Who gave you courage for you to come here and say those words?!"
"Honey, calm down. We'll talk through this, okay?"
"That won't work mum. I know who I am now and I am proud of that. I am proud to be—"
"Get out."
"Honey!"
"Get out of this house right now! If I ever see your face— that's all I'm going to say. LEAVE."
"Honey, think about what— What are you doing? Why are you emptying her room?"
"Because I do not allow disrespectful brats live in my house."
"Father, please listen. Father. Father! Father, listen to me!"
"Jang Wooyoung!" clamoured Miss Kang.
"Here!" answered Wooyoung, wiping drool off his peach lips and jumping up.
"Here? We're half way through the lesson and you're answering now?"
Wooyoung looked at the clock and gulped. "Sorry, miss. I couldn't sleep yesterday because of my neighbours. They were partying at 1:00am, teacher!"
"I know. My house is only four houses away from you. Do you think I could sleep?" Wooyoung lowered his head, wondering what he should say next. "Sorry."
Miss Kang sighed and shook her head. She turned around to write on the chalkboard; Wooyoung turned around to look at Ji Eun. Ji Eun was already looking at Wooyoung but as soon as they made eye-contact, she turned her head and looked out of the window which on her right. Miss Kang threw the wooden chalk duster at Wooyoung but he turned just in time to catch it.
"Bad timing, Miss Kang."
"Jang Wooyoung! Why are you turning around? Does it look like I'm standing there? Is the board there?!"
"Ji Eun distracted me!"
"Lee Ji Eun, stand up."
Ji Eun slowly stood up, her face bowed down. "Did you distract him?" asked Miss Kang in a much sweeter voice. Ji Eun shook her head, indicating that she didn't.
"I understand. You may sit down. Jang Wooyoung, come to my office at break time."
"Miss—"
"And apologise to Ji Eun right now."
Wooyoung turned around and bowed down at exactly ninety degrees. "Sorry Lee Ji Eun." he said.
Ji Eun nodded her head and looked at the text book she had borrowed from her friend.
"Ji Eun," whispered Wooyoung "are you angry?"
Ji Eun waved both her hands signalling that she was okay and she was not angry. Wooyoung smiled widely, "thanks! I promise I'll blame someone else next time!"
