Hey you guys ! Here is the update, hope you enjoyyyy!!😘😘💕💕
Ben's POV
I felt bad for saying those things to Mike. He doesn't deserve it. I am such a bad friend. I sighed heavily at myself.
"Ben we're going to find him, I promise" Beverly said as she rubbed my shoulders.
"Bev I feel terrible. Those words I said to Mike were unforgivable. I didn't mean to say those things... I just kinda exploded due to the tension" I said while sniffing up a bit. Beverly looked at me with sadness in her eyes. She hugged me gently while completely tearing up.
"We all felt bad too you know... Mike was just the best friend any of us could have and we hurt him. He was always there for us, making sure were okay or good or comfortable" Beverly sobbed at me.
She was right.
Mike supported everybody at the Losers. He was the one who was very happy when we all pursued our loved ones.
How could I hurt someone like him? I silently cried infront of Beverly. She wiped my tears and kissed my forehead.
"We're going to find Mike and we're going to make things right okay? Now let's go find him" She assured me. Hand in hand, we both walked towards the gloomy forest. There were a lot of chirping and other forest noise.
"Awooo". I heard a howling noise.
"Did you..hear that?" Beverly asked. I nodded at her and continued to listen for the howls.
"Awooo".
There it is again, this time it was louder and clearer. I was starting to get worried along the way but then Beverly pointed something to me.
It was a footprint. A human footprint!
Beverly looked at me and held my hand tighter. "Ben, I think this is Mike's trail!" She said as she looked excited.
Beverly was right, I recognize this because of Mike's signature farm shoes.
"Let's follow it" I said. After that we both ran as we kept on following the tracks Mike left. It was a never ending chase.
The forest was just getting more and more darker as we went deeper through it. Chirps from birds were replaced by hoots of owls. Bright leaves turned to dead branches of trees.
It was only 10 am in the morning but here, it looked like it was already way past 7 pm. Beverly was leading between the two of us. Then something unusual caught my eye.
There was pile of unnoticable leaves infront of us. I realized it was some kind of trap.
"Beverly watch out!" I yelled out as she stepped on it. I was able to push her and we avoided it but we both fell off a shallow slope.
We rolled on the rocks and twigs as we tumbled on the ground. I quickly stood up not even minding my dizziness just to help Beverly stand up.
"Are you okay?" I asked worriedly. She held her head and examined the bruises on her legs and arms.
"I'm good. These little bruises are nothing. You? Are you good?" She said. I nodded at her. My attention was turned to the bright sunlight that was coming from above the trees.
Everything was bright and alive. It was as if we never went through that dark forest.
"Look Ben! Mike's trail continues this way!" Beverly said as she pointed out the trail marks. Without any hesitation we followed it again.
Along the way, the wind was getting a bit strong and it was getting more bright. As we reached the end of the trees, we stumbled upon something we've never seen before like literally.
Mike was sitting on top of a big boulder and there was these three large wolves infront of him. It wasn't doing anything to him. The wolves just kept on howling over and over again.
Both Beverly and I were breathless. Never before we have seen something so majestic. I was taken back and accidentally I snapped a twig.
Mike turned to our direction as he heard the twig snapping. His eyes widened as he saw us in the broad daylight. Slowly we walked towards him.
"Mike we're, I'm here" I said softly at him as we approached him.
