Chapter 11: Meeting the Fam

A/N:
I know I always make these in the end but DISCLAIMER!! This story takes place after Thor: Ragnarok so there might be spoilers and also I know Stark moved the Avengers Headquarters but for the sake of this book I'm gonna keep it in New York. Also, this is also after Captain America: Civil War so Steve and Tony aren't really in good terms. Anyway, enjoy the chapter!

I get out of the shower and quickly change. I look at myself in the mirror, the outfit hugs my curves and is a perfect fit for me. I really like it.

I step outside of the bathroom door and I see Harry occupied with some paperwork.

"So how do I look?" I ask him, "Do I pull it off?" I say as I put my hand on my hip as he brings his head up to face me.

His eyes become huge as he does a double take. "Wow" was all he said as he just froze staring at me.

"So speechless, I'll take that as a compliment" I nod at him as I take a seat by the table where he was busy at.

"Are you ready to meet the Avengers?" He asks me as he composed himself.

"Of course! Can we go now?" I ask I was too excited to meet them, I couldn't believe this was real to begin with.

"Sure let me just put this away"

"Aww C'mon let's go Harry!" I say as I practically drag him out the suite door.

"Chill, you don't want to scare them away, they're people Mari," he says sternly at me as he puts his stuff away and steps outside the door to meet me where I am standing.

"To the Lounge room!" I say as we make our way to it.

"Welcome to S.H.I.E.L.D. or the reboot of it!" Iron Man says as he greets me and Harry when we finally make it to the Lounge room.

"My name is Tony Stark better known as Iron Man and CEO of Stark Industries! Welcome to the team!" He says as he brings two glasses of champagne for me and Harry.

"I would also like to apologize for that misunderstanding we had a few hours ago, I didn't know you were part of the team" Mr. Stark apologizes to me.

"Oh it's ok Sir, I didn't know either. But man you scared the crap out of me!" I tell him as I take a sip of the champagne.

"Please, call me Tony" he smiles at me, "Let's get you introduced to everyone!" He says as I follow him to meet the rest of the people. I look around and I see Kit with the Avengers but I don't see Dr. Collins. Is he the 'Hydra' member?

"Where's Dr. Collins?" I whisper to Harry.

"He's the Hydra prisoner," he tells me as Tony leads us towards Captain America. Oh Shit!

"This here is the pain in my ass, an honest man yet we have our differences-"

"Are you referring to the showdown we had?" Captain America asks Tony.

"Look Cap, I'm doing you a favor of letting you stay on my premises but if you start again I'm not afraid to kick your ass!" By this point, they were both looking at each other face to face in the eye. I don't know if it was just me but I can just feel the tension in the air. What was up with these two? Weren't they all supposed to be best pals here?

"Guys calm down" Hawkeye butted in with Vision.

"These are not proper manners and not a very good welcome for our new member," said Vision with his accent.

"You're right," Captain America says as he turns around and looks at me.

"My apologies Mariana," says Tony as he also turns to look at me.
