Chapter 9: Avengers Assemble?

"What is thee doing here?" I ask as I stare straight into that metal suit.

"Drop the weapon!" I hear Iron Man's voice, Oh Shit this is real!

I drop the scrap of metal I had as a shield, so he can see that I have surrendered. He slowly flies down towards me with his metal arm pointing at my face ready to blow me off if I did a wrong move.

"OMG Sir I'm such a huge fan of yours!" I exclaim to him hoping he won't kill me.

"Really? I don't know if I should be flattered or disgusted since you work for Hydra!" He says sassily.

"Wait, hold up I don't work for Hydra! I work as an undercover agent for NYPD!" I yell in confusion, "And what the hell is Hydra?!"

"Don't play games with me Lady, I know you're trying to buy time for your people to escape, but you want to know something, It's not going to work, the Avengers are surrounding this building so you either surrender or we'll just have to take you by force" He boldly tells me as his hand follows my every move ready to shoot at me, this is not how I thought I would meet the Avengers.

"Wait wait wait! You're getting us confused Iron Man" Harry's voice booms behind me, he finally stood up.

"We are not Hydra we're just the NYPD, now if you want to interrogate us go for it, but you'll see we are innocent," Harry states as he comes behind me and holds my hand trying to calm me.

"Alright then if you all can follow me, we're about to take you in" he just finished talking when all of a sudden Hawkeye comes in to handcuff all of us and takes us outside, what is going on here?

"Am I going to die? I haven't even finished doing everything on my bucket list!! And I'm going to die a virgin too, NOOO!!" I yell in exasperation, but I can't do anything as we are all being escorted outside towards a helicopter looking thing.

"Now we're going to have to interrogate you individually we'll start with you" Hawkeye points to Harry, as he stands up and follows him to a separate room while I'm stuck alone with people I've just met.

"Don't worry we'll get out of this" Kit tells me with a small smile, man I hope so.

Harry's POV

"Dude, what are you doing here?! You nearly blew our cover!" I yell at Hawkeye, as we sit in a private room.

"Tony wouldn't stop pushing us into investigating this case, he knew you and Kit were doing fine but he wanted us to reinforce especially because he found this"

He took out an envelope to show me, it was one of Captain Miller's weapon plans.

"You can't be serious," I say as I look up to him. "This can end in a disaster!"

"I know that's why we tried to bomb the whole weapon building down, at least the majority of the files are lost but we need your help"

"Shoot," I say as I lean back into the chair and give him back the envelope.

"We need every bit of detail around Captain Miller's plan, now don't get me wrong your doing great but this slipped under your nose, who knows what else he has planned" Hawkeye looked at me concerned.

"Well I got that covered, I hope you don't mind I brought another person into this team"

"Who?" Hawkeye looked confused.

"The girl, Mariana, now she has intel on some of this stuff, but she doesn't even know it, can you help me brief her and maybe calm her down, Tony really did scare her off a bit," I asked pleadingly.

"Well alright, but I hope you know what you're doing Harry, I don't want another victim in this mess," He says sternly.

"Yes sir" I sigh at the memory.

Mariana's POV

They had literally interrogated everyone except me, I was getting nervous, I was the last one to go to that room, I hope they didn't find me guilty.

"Hi Mariana, is it? If you can please sit here" Hawkeye closes the door as he points to the only chair in the room, I take a seat.

"Now don't worry I'm not going to kill you or lock you up, I know your innocent in all this, but I have an offer for you"

"Ohh is it chocolate? A free meal? Movie passes?" I asked excitedly.

"Not really, actually if you would like to join our team-" 

"You mean the AVENGERS!!" I asked wide-eyed.

"No- I mean yes you'll be working with the Avengers, but not necessarily part of that team, it's what we like to call Team B, It's the team that helps us when we need backup and other cases, now my friend Harry put on a good word for you so this position is yours only if you accept." He says smiling at me.

"Wow, I'm honored, but wait, Harry, as in Harry Styles! As in NYPD Harry! Are you telling me he's like a double agent or something too?!" I asked astonished, man this boi is deep, he has many layers!.

"In a way he is, he actually works with us and S.H.I.E.L.D., and if you accept this offer you would too"

"Why haven't I ever heard of S.H.I.E.L.D before?" I asked curiously.

"Maybe you have with the famous Battle of New York..."

"Oh, that's right Y'all saved the world that day! Muchas Gracias por su esfuerzo y sacrificio!" I thank him in Spanish just to mess with him.

"Por Nada" He smiles up at me, OMG he understood what I said!

"Ok ok I've thought it through and I'll accept, with one condition"

"What?" he asks me.

"Please tell Iron Man to not threaten to kill me ever again!" I said scared for my life. I never knew he could be that intimidating with the suit.

"Oh don't take it to heart he didn't know you were on our side but don't worry I'll talk to him about it, and Mariana, Welcome on board!" He says as he shakes my handcuffed hand.

"Oh and about this" he pointed at the handcuffs "you still have to act like you're a prisoner because we actually found one person from Hydra from the bundle so just use your acting skills for a while and act as the double agent you are now" he states as he softly laughs.

"But don't worry we'll land the Helicarrier at the Stark Tower and you'll meet all the Avengers properly," He said as he opened the door to let me out of the interrogating room. 

This might be the best day ever, considering I almost died, YAY!
