"Ya sure you're okay?" Marco asked as we shuffled to our usual seating area in the SU building.

"I'm fine," I smiled, though it was all a lie.

Seeing Levi...it...it broke me. It hurt to see him and it hurt even worse to know he detested me as much as he did. It was ridiculous for me to feel so demoralized. I mean, it was all ultimately my fault in the end. I had gone behind his back to seek information he didn't wish to share with me. That was betrayal...that was me demolishing Levi's trust. Well, if he had ever really trusted me from the start. But, it didn't matter. I had fucked up and there was nothing I could even do.

"Are you positive?" Marco insisted, lifting a brow at me.

I nodded quickly, "Marco, I'm fine. I promise."

He observed me quickly before sighing, "Okay. If you say so."

I pushed him playfully and giggled, "I say so."

He grimaced at me and we made it to our table, sliding into our seats. Jean was already there waiting for us, his posture calm and relaxed as he leaned on the back two legs of his chair. He threw back a few chips, his gaze watching us closely. I was already quite aware what he was thinking. He and Connie were both still hung up on the idea that Marco and I were secretly a thing. Neither of us had clarified that just yet. Every time we came close to clearing the air on the subject, something else came up. Still, I just ignored his smirk.

"Where's Connie?" Marco asked, dropping his backpack next to his seat.

Jean motioned at the stairs that led to the first floor with his thumb and answered, "With Sasha getting some food. They'll be back soon. Why?" He wiggled his brow jokingly, leaning in closer. "Don't wanna be the only couple here?"

"It's not like that," Marco defended. "We're ju-"

"Where's the rest of the party?" Ymir's voice chimed as she slid into the chair next to me, Historia to her side. "Where's potato girl and baldy?"

I bit back my laughter as Jean rolled his eyes. He wasn't overly fond of our group expanding as it had, but being the only girl in a group who was ever surrounded by mainly testosterone-driven men, I highly appreciated the extra estrogen. Still, Jean didn't really like it. Not that he disliked Historia or Sasha necessarily, but I knew he was no fan of Ymir's. Their bickering typically amused the rest of us.

"They're getting food," Jean mumbled, his displeasure almost dripping from his lips.

"They've been getting very close over the last couple of weeks," Historia smiled, her sweet voice ringing in my ears.

"Yeah, they have," Ymir laughed, wrapping her arm around Historia. "Another couple in the making to join us."

Historia blushed as Ymir pecked one of her cheeks sweetly. I could tell it made Marco uncomfortable, but then again, he was so innocent that any PDA of any kind was enough to turn his ears red with embarrassment. So, he glanced away, fidgeting with his fingers. Jean just rolled his eyes and tossed another chip in his mouth while I just sat there. They are such a cute couple. I smiled, feeling my heart ache. I...I wish that could've been Levi and I. I was about to sink into my own emotions when Connie and Sasha made their grand appearance.

"Gang's all here," Connie smiled, glancing at each of us.

The two each slid into their seats, setting their food on the table as we all just watched them. The smiles on their faces were filled with so much happiness and elation at their blossoming relationship. I grinned at their novel joy before feeling a twinge pull in my chest. It still hurt to see something as beautiful as their blooming relationship right in front of me. Deep down, I was secretly jealous of them. I knew I never stood a chance of pursuing something as amazing and pure as what Connie and Sasha had developing with Levi...I mean, Professor Ackerman. It could never happen.
