~4 Years Later~

I squinted as my eyes fluttered open, the faint golden gleam filtering in through the mesh curtains, illuminating the pale ceiling. The muffled rumbles of the AC softly growling filled the room, its icy kiss chilling my bare shoulders. I turned towards the alarm clock to my left and stretched, chasing away all the stiffness from the night before, noting how the sun beamed in.

I stretched again and turned to my other side, my eyes falling on a sleeping Levi. His eyelids draped over his mesmerizing orbs, those long lashes of his brushing against his cheeks. His bare chiseled chest rose and fell steadily, synchronizing perfectly with the soft snores that escaped through his parted lips. I smiled at him, my eyes soaking up the way the inky shadows danced across his features and sunk into the valleys of his sculpted abdominal muscles. Still as beautiful as ever. I grinned at him.

I rolled to my side and went to climb out of bed when I felt a set of strong arms wrap around me and pull me close as a face buried itself in the crook of my neck. I could feel the way his hot breath tickled my skin, the sweetest aroma of lavender filling my nostrils. He sweetly pecked his lips against my neck, causing me to giggle.

"What are you doing?" I asked, still chuckling at his actions.

"Just five more minutes," he breathed against my skin. "Five more minutes just like this."

"Yeah right. Five more minutes will turn into twenty," I snorted, glimpsing over my shoulder at him.

He shrugged, "I'm fine with that. We can stay in bed like this all day for all I care."

"No we can't," I chortled.

Just then, I heard the door to our bedroom creak open slowly, drawing my attention to it. I watched as it gently met the wall, the doorknob quietly knocking at the surface. I listened as the soft patters of footsteps shuffled along the carpet of our floor until something began to pull at our comforter. I smiled to myself, well aware who our visitor was.

After a few moments of struggling and tugging, a tiny little girl with long inky locks pulled into two braids hiked up to our bed. Her little build was clothed by an oversized t-shirt too big for her and a cute tiny pair of pink bunny socks. Her skin was a soft ivory that the pale illuminance lit up, her orbs a dazzling gray that her sweet smile met when she saw us.

"Mommy, Daddy," she grinned, climbing between us. "I'm hungy (hungry)."

"And that's why we can't stay in bed all day," I teased, freeing myself from Levi's hold. I could hear him whine as I climbed to my feet, sliding my glasses onto the ridge of my nose. I snickered, "Come on. Let's go eat some breakfast."

"Fine," he huffed, turning to our daughter. "What do you want to eat, Zayleigh (if ya don't like the name, then call her whatever you'd like)?"

"Pancakes!" she sang, jumping onto Levi. "Pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes!"

"Pancakes it is," he grinned, lifting her up.

He climbed out of bed, Zayleigh in tow, her sweet laughter ringing through the atmosphere as he held her in the air. She held up her arms, pretending to fly, causing me to giggle lightly. They exited the room, Levi carrying her down the steps, her sweet laughter filling the atmosphere as I slowly followed behind, my pregnant belly leading the way.

I smiled when I reached the main floor, my eyes landing on my daughter and Levi. Zayleigh was standing on a stole next to her father, helping him to prepare our breakfast. It warmed my heart to watch them -to see Levi so engulfed in the world of fatherhood and Zayleigh laughing at his silly gestures. It was a world I adored and loved more than anything. It was a world I was proud to call my own. And, it was a world that, despite all the odds, fitted us well.
