Micheal's POV
"Micha, I'm okay. I promise."
Lies. Lies. Lies.
I could see through him. His eyes gave it all away. I forgot I was staring into them until he flinched and looked away.
That's when I saw it - the evidence.
A dark bruise lay just below his jaw. I gasped as I felt a tear make its way down my cheek.
Jeremy frowned at me "Micheal, what's-what's wrong?"
I stifled a sob as I pointed to the bruise.
"Oh, Micha, it's not...no, I just..." he voice trailed off as he bit his lip.
"It was him, wasn't it?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
He glanced off at something in the distance, avoiding my stare. Finally, he gave up and faced me, tears streaming down his face.
"I'm-I'm going to be okay Micheal."
"This needs to stop. He needs to stop." I choked out.
"No. He...", Jeremy paused as he contemplated what to say next. "He loves me."
I shook my head.
"He said he loved me."
"Jer, you need to get out of that situation."
He looked right at me, eyes piercing mine and I will never forget what he said next.
"It's not like anyone else loves me."
Lies. Lies. Lies, I wanted to scream. But I knew when Jeremy was lying.
He wasn't.
He really believed it.
Another tear escaped my eye as I smashed my lips onto his. He hesitated before wrapping his fragile arms around my waist as I ran my hands through his hair. For a moment it was just us and only us.
But soon we both pulled away, being pushed back into reality.
Jeremy needed saving.
And I was going to save him.
