3rd person pov

"Mom, dad...Alana and I have something we've been meaning to talk to you about."

It was an average dinner at the Murphy household. It was just Cynthia, Larry, and (as always - Alana). Connor was at Evan's house, as always, so the two girls decided this would be the perfect time to finally come out to Larry and Cynthia. No interruptions. No distractions. Just Zoe and Alana against the world.

And that was what scared Zoe the most.

Her parents had never really told Zoe what their view was on The Gays™️

For all she knew, this could be the end for her and Alana. Just the thought of that sent a shiver down her spine.  She needed Alana more than she needed jazz band. More than she needed milk. More than she needed anyone.

With a deep breath, Alana squeezed Zoe's hand under the table giving her a nod of encouragement.

"Well...you see..." Zoe started, hands shaking.

There it was again, a squeeze. Reassurance. She could do this.

Remember- this is all for Alana.

"ALANA AND I ARE HOMOSEXUALS" she yelled all at once.

"Well, duh." Cynthia said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

The girls stared at her with a frowns on their faces.

"How...how did you know mom?" Zoe asked with wide eyes.

"Seriously. The handholding every night at dinner. The blushing and giggling when you bump arms. The making out on the couch at 3am. How could we not know?"

"It's true." Larry chimed in. "Anyone in their right mind can clearly see you two are madly in love."

"DAD!"

"I'm sorry! But it's true honey." He said with a warm smile. "We're very happy for you two. But Alana, we're going to need to have a talk."

"Oh no." Zoe groaned.

"Hey! I am not going to have anyone be hurting my baby girl. I don't care if you're a boy or a girl, I can't have you breaking my little zo-zo's heart!"

"Not again with the nicknames dad!"

"That's just how we do things around heere. Like it or not, you can both consider yourself a part of this family. Isn't that right Lanie poo?"

"WE'RE LEAVING NOW BYE DAD BYE MOM!"

"We love you!" They both yelled while blowing kisses as Zoe and Alana left.

"See? That didn't go so bad!" Alana said with a sweet voice.

"Shut up"

This was high-key a vent because my parents are homophobic and I like girls :)
Anywho, stay safe lovelies! <3
