It was exam week and everyone was stressed. Still, no one was as stressed as Y/N Y/L/N was. She spent her days at classes and the library and her nights in her dorm, continuing learning. She always had been a person to get easily stressed, but this was her N.E.W.T.'s This was not only important to her, but also to her family as well. Her future depended on this. So, today was not different from the days before.

Y/N's head was placed at the top of her work as she tried to relax for a second. Or that's what she told herself over and over again. For the past twenty minutes, she just laid there, feeling how she was drifting away. She rested longer as she caught sleep last night. Her body really relaxed for the first time in days as a bang disrupted her from continue doing it. Y/N yanked her head up, trying not to look as startled as she actually was.

She looked up to see Remus and his friends, being confused by her reaction. Her eyes moved to the books, which made the loud sound by Sirius. "Oh, Merlin. Sorry Y/N. I didn't mean to startle you," Sirius said as he sat down. Remus, her boyfriend sat down next to her and placed his arm at the edge of her chair while his other two friends took a seat as well. "Don't worry, I just had been getting rarely sleep lately," she muttered while resting her head on the top of her hand. She slightly jumped as her boyfriend's hand moved to her back and caressed it gently.

Y/N gave her boyfriend a soft, but tired smile. "Well, no wonder. You learned more as everyone else did in our year. Even more, as Remus and I didn't believe until now that it was possible." Sirius halfway joked and admit. Usually, she would have laughed, but she felt too tired. Before she could react, Remus packed her books, quills, and parchment into her bag. She moved her hand to stop him and frowned at him. He just pushed her hand tenderly away and stood up, "You are going to relax now."

She opened her mouth to tell him no but closed it as he playfully glared at her. It was clear that there was no way, she could argue with him now. He was clearly right. She sighed and stood up likewise. Because of the lack of energy and food, she could feel herself getting dizzy. With his free arm, he supported her with a tight, but gently grip around her waist. The next thing, she could clearly remember was Remus carefully helping her into his bed and placing a blanket over her.

He anxiously tried to move next to her and beneath the blanket. She watched him with tired eyes as stripped off his shoes. "But you have to learn. We have to learn." Remus shook his head and turned on his side to look at her, "You need sleep and I can study later. At least, I ate and slept in the last twenty-four hours." He wrapped his arm around her and moved her into his chest. Y/N could feel him kiss her head softly, taking in the smell of her shampoo. Something warm bubbled in her chest. The feeling of love and safety.

"Sleep, darling. You need it," he whispered, making her smile. "How do I deserve someone like you?" She murmured against his chest and she could feel him chuckle. "I love you, Y/N." This was the first time, he ever told her that he loved her. "I love you too, Remus John Lupin." With that, her eyes slowly closed and she could feel herself fall asleep while listening to his heartbeat.

It wouldn't be the last time, Remus saved his princess from the dangerous creatures of the world. He promised himself, he would keep her safe from every monster in the wide world. A pain in his chest, made him realize that there was a monster around her all the time while he was around. Himself. Remus John Lupin. A werewolf.
