after changbin and chan spoke, the two of them stayed close together. well, more like chan stayed close to changbin to help him. "chan-hyung?" changbin asked, sitting next to the older boy, watching tv. chan turned his head around to look at the younger. "d-do you t-think felix is alright?" changbin asked, worried. chan nodded, putting his hand on changbin's head. "i'm pretty sure he misses you, misses us. but i think he's o- actually, i think he isn't.." chan said, deciding not to lie to the younger just to make him feel better. changbin's eyes got wide. "why d-do you think that?" chan looked at changbin before he said "are you okay?" "n-no?" "then do you think felix is, without you?" chan said. changbin shook his head. the older boy just nodded, before standing up to get something. changbin just watched confused.
he returned, his phone in his hand. "here, call him." chan said, handing changbin his phone. chan was the only one who was allowed to have a phone, until they debut, since he was the leader. felix had one, because his family lived in australia, and jyp wasn't a bad person. "a-are you serious?" changbin said, eyes shining happy and chan smiled and nodded.
after a few seconds, felix answered. "chan-hyung?" he asked, voice raspy. "it's changbin-hyung, lix." the other boy said, happy to hear felix' voice again. "oh, hyung! how come you have chan-hyung's phone?" the younger asked. "he allowed me to call you. i miss you." changbin explained. "i miss you too. i miss everyone." changbin nodded, but then remembered that felix couldn't even see him. "s-so how are you?" felix stayed quiet for a while, before sighting and answering "well, i'm of course not really okay, you know. it's just like...being back to being a normal trainee is...i don't know. plus i miss you guys, i miss you, hyung." changbin was hoping that felix would lie to him. he was hoping that felix would just say "oh, i'm actually okay. don't worry", but then again, he wanted felix to tell the truth and it hurt him to know that he's not okay, even if he was expecting it. "and you, hyung? how are you?" the younger one suddenly asked. changbin panicked. should i tell him i'm fine? would that hurt him? should i tell him i'm not fine? would that hurt him more?
"he's not okay." chan suddenly said into the phone. changbin's eyes widened. "why not?" felix asked. "he misses you." chan answered for changbin, again. "hyung." changbin whispered, his eyes begging him to stop, but chan just shrugged and took the phone to talk with felix. "yo dude, remember to call when you need anything, or when you need someone to talk to." chan said in english and changbin could hear felix saying "yes, thanks."
after a little conversation in which no important things were said, chan hung up. "are you better now?" he asked changbin, who nodded, still smiling a bit. he was happy just hearing felix voice. "if talking to him makes you feel better, you can call him whenever you want to. just tell me and you can use my phone." chan said, changbin couldn't thank him enough.
it was always like that though. chan was the leader and he acted like one. he would take all the blame is something happened, he would help the members out. he was the one who would stay awake until 6-7 in the morning, just to make sure that every member was okay, even when he himself really wasn't alright. changbin admired him for being such a strong person. changbin really loved chan, not like he loved felix though. he was just happy that someone like chan was on his side, always.
"hyung?" he said, making chan turn around again. "i'm really happy and thankful that you're helping me so much, you know?" chan smiled, before punching him lightly. "stop, you're gonna make me soft, changbinnie." changbin laughed, when suddenly jisung came in. "let's go, jyp wants to see us." he said and all of them went to the practice room.
"there's gonna be two more members." jyp said, and everyone's eyes got big. everyone thought the same thing. how unfair was that?
does felix know about this? did it hurt him? is he crying? changbin thought, when two people entered the room. it took him 5 seconds to realize that it were minho and felix who were standing there, jyp was laughing. "i decided to give them a second chance. i'll leave you alone for now. chan, i'll talk to you later." he said and walked out.
changbin looked at felix, who smiled at him. "long time no see." felix said, hugging changbin tight. "since when did you know about this?" changbin asked confused. "jyp told us right before you called me." felix answered. "and you didn't even think of telling me?!" the older one said. felix laughed, his eyes shining. and changbin couldn't resist and just kissed felix' forehead. felix didn't say anything, but smiled to himself.
and then changbin spotted chan, standing on one side of the room, looking at the picture in front of him, smiling to himself.
"finally we're complete again." changbin whispered more to himself than anyone.
