She was lost
Between what once was
And what could be.
In search she went
For her missing pieces.
She found a place
Between love
And misery.
There she stayed hoping
But never truly knowing.
Amidst the agony of love
Between the illusion of fantasy
There was the bitter truth of reality.
All she wanted was to be loved
But this love was full of impurities.
Then the day came
Between heartbreak
And betrayal.
She did not cry
Nor did she beg.
She understood there was no love
Between two souls
Who only played pretend.
After the pain
Came resolve.
She vowed to never love again
Between the isolation
She placed a lock upon her heart.
Little did she know true love comes
When one falls apart.
Beneath the stars
Between the rain
A new love was born one winter's day.
A gentle heart he possesed
Fearful yet hopeful.
He approached with no malice or ill intent
Between a simple curiosity
And pure understanding.
He waited patiently
Until she too could open up.
With their love soon came trust
Between the simple steps
To heart warming hugs.
He proved to her he would bring no harm
As he only wanted a chance to connect their hearts.
For what is love
But a vow between two
To never give up.
Between us there is love
A love we have worked hard to make true.
