Chapter 8

Max's P.O.V

I was in the escort with Lewis and our press officers when we saw the car in front of us get hit by a jeep that was clearly driving over the speed limit. Lewis and I got the driver to stop and jumped out of the car with our PO's close behind. I pried the door open and what I saw shocked me Liv and her friend Khloe were both unconscious inside the car. I almost crumpled right there but I had to be strong for Liv and Lewis because I swear I thought I saw a tear fall down his cheek. We lifted both girls out of the car carefully and helped the driver out because he was still conscious and able to move. An ambulance arrived just after we had gotten everyone safely out of the car, they took Khloe and the driver in that ambulance. Another one arrived to take Liv, Lewis and I to the hospital because no matter what we were gonna be by Liv's side.

Lewis' P.O.V

I cant understand why Max isn't crying right now because I can tell he likes Liv so he should be sad, but he's not or he's just getting lessons on how to be Kimi. Liv and Khloe had been in surgery for three hours now. Max and I had called Checo to tell him Khloe had been in an accident and now there are three heart broken drivers in a dull and depressing hospital waiting room. The doors opened and Liv came out in a bed. Now was when the waterworks started, Max was finally showing his emotions by balling his eyes out and I was on the verge. Checo comforted Max while I left Max and him outside to check on Liv, when I got to her room I texted them what number Liv was in. I just cant listen to a sobbing Max or I'll just start crying myself and Liv needs us to be strong.

Checo's P.O.V

A doctor walked up to Max and I and asked "are you boys here for Khloe Cooper,' "yes," I replied instantly "is she ok." "Well," the doctor hesitated "tell me please!" I cried. "She didn't survive," his tone turned from serious to sad. "NO, this cant be!" I wailed. Now Max has to do his best to try to comfort me, but it isn't working no amount of comfort could every bring my beautiful Khloe back to me. Her laugh and smile was all that kept me going through the last race and now I'll never see it again. I need time alone I can visit Liv later and I didn't even know her well anyway. So I told Max I needed to leave and went to Khloe's hospital room "Khloe I really love you and I will never stop loving you, the minute I met you I knew you were the one I would love and protect. I failed you and I will never forgive myself for that, I love you," tears were spilling down my face as I gave her one last kiss on the cheek and said goodbye. A goodbye that would last a very long time.
