Midori stood in the kitchen counter, chopping vegetables for dinner that night. She peeked inside the cauldron to see what has become of the soup she was cooking.
"Saa~ It smells so good!"
She sighed in contentment, she was definitely enjoying this new life.
She didn't regret that she accepted her sister's offer, even though it's as crazy as it sounds. She smiled, reminiscing the new memories she built with her husband in their home village.
The time they spent flower viewing at the Sakura festival.
The times they spent shopping for their new home.
The times they spent cuddling with each other during cold days.
The times they spent just showing their affection for each other.
And of course, her face turned beet red when she remembered their honeymoon.
Yes, they have already been married a year ago, and they are living their life happily right now.
Because of her day-dreaming, she didn't notice the door opening until a pair of hands snaked around her waist.
Her eyes widened, she grabbed the nearest knife she could get her hands on and turned around fiercely, only to find Itachi there grinning, his hands up in surrender.
"Oh my God Itachi! are you going to give me a heart attack?!"
"Sorry," He said and placed his hands on her waist again. "it won't happen again."
She looked at him sternly and gave him a kiss. "You better do. It's not good for the baby."
She yelped in surprise as Itachi pulled her into a chair, setting her on his lap.
"I know..." He said, caressing her stomach lovingly.
She just sighed and tried to get up, but Itachi pulled him back. "Itachi.. It's going to burn.."
He sighed, made a clone, and then sent it to the kitchen to finish dinner. "Feel better?"
She grinned. "Yea, surprisingly. So, how's work today?"
"It's fine, I guess. The children in the academy can be a bit annoying sometimes though."
She just hummed in reply as they both sat there in silence.
"Say, don't you feel weird? I mean, people not knowing who we were? Like, seriously. Who doesn't know who we are before, but now.." She just sighed. "It's so.. weird."
"It's fine.." He replied and buried his face in her neck, giving it soft pecks. "I like this, actually."
" Geez..."
After a while of silence, her husband spoke up. "Say, do you think your sister can get a love life?" He said, chuckling at the love life part.
Midori just arched her eyebrows at him. "What's so funny? In fact, I do. Actually, I think Kakashi got the hots for her or something."
He just choked on the words she said. "Kakashi? Seriously? But... how?"
She just shrugged in reply. "I don't know, just a feeling I got."
Suddenly, a poof came from the kitchen. Itachi's head cocked to the side and he helped Midori stand up. "Ah, I think dinner is just ready to be served."
Itachi placed their food in the table and they began eating.
"Itadakimasu."
Once they were done, and ready to go to bed, Itachi came up to her and whispered something in her ear.
"Before going to sleep, would you like to-?"
Midori's face immediately became beet red. "Shut up."
