Changbin's POV

And there I was, sitting in my school's music room. I promised my friend Chan that I'd meet him here after school to help him with a song he's working on but the punk didn't show up.

I waited for a few minutes and played a few notes on the piano until I finally came to the conclusion that he wasn't coming.

How annoying. I could've been at home, actually doing something.

I felt my phone buzz in my backpack. I was expecting a "sorry" text from Chan but when I looked, I saw it was a text from my mom

Mom: Hi hun. You said you were going to be hanging out with a friend, right?

Some friend.

Me: No. Coming home now.

Mom: Okay

I put my phone back in my back pocket and let out a sigh. I picked up my bag and headed towards the door. I looked back at the room to make sure I didn't leave anything.

Then I saw it. The rain outside the window.

"Great", I thought. Now I have to walk home in the rain. Sure it was pretty cloudy today but I didn't think it would rain.

I opened the school doors and prepared my self for an unpleasant walk.

I stepped out into the rain shower. Although I was kind of unhappy about my situation, I felt somewhat refreshed. That feeling didn't last very long.

The rain. It stopped? No, I can still hear it and see it around me. But I no longer have rain water dripping down my face.

I tilted my head up and there was a navy blue umbrella hovering above me. Then I looked to my side and standing there was...was...

that basketball player from earlier?

[Flashback to Earlier That Day]

We were sitting on a bench in the school basket ball court. Me, Chan, and Seungmin. We were waiting for Hyunjin, who was taking pictures of the basketball team practicing. He was taking pictures for the yearbook.

Chan: "Changbin, can you meet me at the music room after school. I'm having trouble with my new song and I could really use your help."

I replied with a "yeah, sure."

Seungmin: "Why didn't you ask me?"

Chan: "I thought you had a new girlfriend to tend to?"

They started talking about Seungmin's girlfriend and all the details about how she asked him out first. I wasn't really interested in the topic so I thought I'd walk over to Hyunjin and see how the pictures were going.

I looked to see which side the players were on so that I could walk on the opposite side. I was midway when I realized that my shoe lace was untied. I bent down to tie it.

"Ball! Watch out!" someone yelled out.

Ball? I didn't know what was going on because my focus was on my shoe.
