Violet's pov:
"See you soon mom" I called out as I walked to school, accompanied by Bryan. Today's sunny, but a bit chilly. So I wore my cream knitted sweater over my black t-shirt matched with a pair of black leggings. On my way to school, I hummed to the songs in my playlist to pass the time.
When I had arrived at school, I head to my locker to get my books when someone flung their arms around me from behind, suffocating me in the proses. "Violet!!!" Squealed the person. I knew it was Jade, so I turned around and let her hug me tightly.
"Too tight, Jade" I breathed out. "Sorry" she giggled. "We missed you. You were absent for a week. What happened?" Asked Hayley coming over to me along with my other friends; Selena and Daphne.
"My brother forbade me to leave the house for a whole week" I answered simply. "Why's that?" Asked Selena. "He found out that a guy in school was quite fond of me and Peter just didn't want me to be involved with that guy" I explained, putting the rest of my books in my bag before closing my locker.
"And he kept you locked away for a week!?" Exclaimed Daphne.
"Why is he so uptight towards guys?" Murmured Hayley.
"And you didn't protest?" Asked Jade.
"You know I've tried" I mumbled. "But actually when I think about it, I appreciate him being overprotective. I don't have to worry about those bad boys out here" I said smiling.
"Violet. Not all of the boys out here are bad boys like what your brother says" said Hayley, softly. "Well I think they are" I shrugged.
I know Hayley's just trying to soften my heart towards boys. Well I can't. I can't open up to them. I can't open up to guys who would believe in every crazy rumor about me. I can't open up to guys who aren't brave enough to face the rath of my overprotective brother.
I just can't...
As the bell rang, I walked to my first class along with Daphne and Hayley while Selena and Jade went to their classes.
I sat down at a seat nearest to the window. Daphne sat beside me, while Hayley sat infront of me. When our maths teacher, Mrs Olive came in, in her hand were sheets of papers.
Exam papers, to be exact.
I slumped even deeper in my chair as I heard her call out each one of our names to give back the papers.
"Violet Evans" She called out. I cursed silently as I heard her call out my name in a sharper tone than the other names she had called out before me.
"Miss Evans. I hope you realize how bad your current grade is, this term" she said in a strict tone as she approached my desk.
I heard a few nasty giggles from the girls in this class, but I just ignored them. I looked up at Mrs Olive's eyes and just took the paper in her hand gently before looking away.
Usually, people would hate teachers that would humiliate you infront of the whole class. But not me. I wouldn't hate a teacher or curse them behind their backs. I don't like too many dramas in my life. That's why I would always shove my dramatic problems away.
"Hey, Vi" whispered Daphne from beside me. "Don't worry. Don't mind those stupid girls" said Daphne, giving them a glare. "It's not them that I'm worried right now" I told her, right after Mrs Olive left the classroom to fetch some worksheets.
She looked at me, understandingly. "You'll get through this. I'm sure Peter would take your side. He loves you. He wouldn't let your mother beat you up" assured Daphne. I just smiled and looked away, lost in my thoughts.
