-Bre's P.O.V-
My search for the others wasn't going as planned. I had already accomplished to get 3 mosquito bites, a twisted ankle, and a stick lodged into my thick ponytail, and to make matters worse it was still storming pretty bad. I continued to look for any sign of the others while tugging at the twig.

"Come. On. You. Stupid. Twig." I said cursing under my breath. I was freezing from the rain and decided if I was going to reunite with the others anytime soon, I'd have to get to higher ground, which was risky given how hard it was storming. I scanned the area looking for a reachable limb. 'There' I thought to myself. I would have to climb pretty high up, but I would get a good view from there.

I raced over to the tree, taking a deep breath I swung my arms and jumped to the lowest branch. Wrapping my arms around the limb I hoisted myself up, grunting. The bark was wet and slippery, but I eventually made it to the second branch, where I did the same as the last.

Finally I made it to the top limb. Fear swept through me, I hadn't noticed how high the branch really was. With my back pressed against the tree, I hugged the trunk close, closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. From where I was I couldn't get a good view because of other branches swaying from the harsh winds.

Carefully, one by one, I stepped further out onto the limb, my arms out beside me helping me balance. I had gotten close to the end when lightning struck about a mile away. Frightened I lost my balance, my foot slipped on the soaked branch. Hanging from one hand I dangled 30 feet up. Fear struck, forcing screams out for help.

"Help!" I screamed between sobs. My throat was raspy from crying. I looked up at the full moon with blurred vision. Wind howled from all directions, beating against my body. All around me rain poured and thunder crashed, causing me to loose my grip, and fall to the ground.

I fell the 30 feet, occasionally feeling a limb crash into my back or gut. Tears streamed from my eyes. and blood poured from my cuts. I hit the ground and was out instantly, the branches towering above me blocked most of the rain, except for the occasional water that found its way into my wounds, burning my flesh, and washing the blood away.
