"So That was here?" My Dad asks from the drivers seat. We had only made it to the end of the street before he decided to attack me with his questions.

"Yes." I reply simply.

"And you two are just-"

"Just friends Dad." I resist the urge to roll my eyes. "I already told you. She just got dumped My her boyfriend."

"And you're just being a supportive friend." My Dad finishes.

"Yes."

"She's nice." My Dad says, he was never one for silence. "So is her family. It was very thoughtful of them to invite us over."

"Dad can we please not make a big deal out of this?" I beg.

"What? It's not everyday I get to meet your friends and their family." He replies innocently.

"You've met my teammates." I say defensively. "And some of their families."

My dad glances over at me and gives me a knowing look. "True, but this one is different. Isn't she."

"Shut up." I grumble, but wanting to admit he was right. Of course he was. Natasha was different. This wasn't one of those acquaintance friendships that didn't go far outside of school. No this was something else.

My dad reaches forward and turns on the radio.

We drive the rest of the way home listening to the radio.
