A hit the ground, knocking the air out of him. His vision became blurry, and the sound of everything else was replaced with a continuous ringing. He knew where he was. He knew he couldn't rest. He looked up, and saw his sheath a couple of feet away from him. He crawled over to it, using his elbows. As he reached for it, he collapsed, exhaling, loudly.

He could suddenly feel the rest of his body, and realized a jagged rock had impaled his head. Pain, a wave of white, concentrated pain came rushing into the side of his head. he clawed for it, and pulled it out, only to see it covered in blood. He thought pulling the rock out would make it feel better, but it was only worse.

A looked at the rock, blurring in and out of clarity, and felt himself shed a tear. Then another. then three more. Then his tears formed a continuous stream at his chin, dripping. He screamed out in pain, no doubt an ugly, loud and horrifying one. But he couldn't tell. He couldn't hear it. A opened his mouth many times, but nothing came out.

He curled up in a ball, and clutched his head. He didn't know if he was dying or not. He didn't know if he'd broken a bone or not. He was scared. Scared of the monsters, scared that he was dying, scared that Abbott was dead. And no matter how much that angered him, he couldn't do anything.

Without warning, sound returned to the world. And he could smell. And see. He looked up, and saw Amy, covered in blood and ash. She was poking his head with a tiny stick. When she saw his pupils move, and look at her, she gasped, aloud.

"A! Oh, thank god you're okay!" She ran over and hugged him.

A tried to reply, but could only wheeze loudly.

"You really shouldn't say anything. You fell, and landed right on a rock! I couldn't look at you very much, so I didn't know if you were dead, or just retarded, or something, but you're okay!"

A finally managed to say something. "Amy... you really need to learn how to not say everything you're thinking..."

Amy let go of him, letting him only fall to the ground again. "Rude. Anyhow, the spiders, you see them?" She asked A.

Almost all of the doors closed, and locked themselves, except for the spiders. They spread out, and avoided the hallway altogether, keeping the door open.

"Hey." A whispered, attempting to get up. "That's... that could be our exit."

Amy nodded, grinning. "I think when all of the creatures were killed, the doors sensed it, and closed. But since the spiders are still alive, the door stayed open!"

"I don't get it."

Amy sighed. "Neither do I. But come on. It's our only exit, you know."

A was ecstatic. "Amy, I never said I didn't want to do it. Sheesh."

They both walked into the hallway, and the door locked behind them.

A jumped when he heard it, confused. Amy only shrugged. "Oh well." She said, not caring very much.

A stared at her, but continued to followed her down the hallway, anyway.

The Hallway was surprisingly nice. the walls were made of polished brass, and little holes for the spiders to crawl into. However it lacked any light sources, so A surrounded his hand in fire.

"...Hey." A said, furrowing his brow. "Why can't you use an fire powers? I mean, I get that Abbott can't. He's a dog. But why can't you?"

Amy shrugged. "I don't know. I can only manipulate time. Y'know. In small pockets."
