Moon could feel the Ribbon glowing, pulsating with heat. He summoned the last of his strength, and forced his eyes open. The hole in his shoulder healed, and he became aware of a small pain in his head. He pulled out a second arrow, and his head healed quickly. Roy's group had left Leon, and were attempting to trip The Beast, and kill the parasite.
A name. Moon. His name was Moon. It always had been.
-I... I remember everything.-
It was all there, His brother, His parents, what their job was, where Zane went, who he was, what he was doing when The Beast first attacked, everything. But there was no time to mull on any of it, unfortunately. No, not now. Now, he had to do something, to help... For once. Thinking this, Moon felt his hands begin to sweat, creating a loud crackling sound.
The battle had far expanded now, with it happening around A... No, Moon, like a large blob. So many were being mauled, around him. And Moon had been lying down, doing nothing about it? Why? Because he was a kid? No. Because he was scared. Even if his contribution meant nothing, and got him killed, Moon had to help.
Leon heard it, and turned around, and motioned to his left. Rose landed with a front flip in front of him, a grimace on her face. Moon kept walking. He drew his sword, and stopped, standing still.
"Rose." Leon said, calmly. "Exterminate this vermin."
Rose nodded. She drew her bow, and took aim.
"Not here. Far away, on the bridge."
He snapped his fingers, and Moon suddenly was surrounded by darkness. In a second, Leon and Moon were both transported to the large stone bridge that he'd seen the reinforcements cross. Leon's eye twitched, and slowly turned, and shouted at Rose, who was on the other side of the force-field that Leon had created, so A couldn't escape.
"Rose, you imbecile! What happened!?"
She only pointed at Moon, who's left hand was ignited, and pointed at Leon. Leon cursed under his breath, and then turned to Moon.
"So, you interfered with the process? You want me to kill you that fucking badly? Fine."
He pulled out a large two-handed sword, flowing with shadow.
"I tried, A. I really did." Leon said, anger dripping into his voice. "As a request from my master, Death, I tried not show this side of myself, as anger can be my weakness, a flaw that will end everything!" He paused. "But what's the point, now?! It's almost over, anyway! A small execution of a pest can't throw anything off, not now!"
He put all of his strength into one deadly strike, which Moon narrowly missed, stepping quickly to the side. Moon threw a flaming projectile at Leon's weapon, the light temporarily driving back the weapon's darkness, allowing him to safely jump on to it, and land a swift cut onto Leon's right cheek, scarring him.
"Ah! You just don't get it, do you? The world's ending. Everything's going to die. Why are you even fighting this? You can't win! You can't !" He shrieked, lunging again, this time chipping the bridge underneath them, and managing to slightly graze Moon's face.
Blood slowly trickling down his forehead, Moon hopped backwards, to put distance between them. Landing on the other side, he heard a small creaking noise from below the bridge. The middle pillar... It sounded fragile.
"Well? Answer me!"
Moon turned back to Leon, still drawing towards him.
"Why aren't you saying anything!? What's wrong with you?!" Leon shouted.
