A walked through the neighborhood. It seemed like it would have been nice to live in, before whatever happened, happened. Now, however, it looked mutilated. Multiple houses had been removed from their lots, leaving behind numerous holes, and the ones still standing barley counted as houses. The sidewalk was damaged so much, it was a surprise it was even usable. The foundation underneath was even visible. The stench was rather horrible as well; reeking of ashes, expired food, and acid. A started to get closer to the house. He wondered what it would be like.
When he arrived, he was met with an interesting sight. The front of the house resembled a strange place, as it had linked up with 3 other houses. It was so strange he didn't notice it from the school. The house was crawling with some sort of growth, multiple banners hung over it, and gold poles with flags showing an elderly women were scattered about haphazardly. What A guessed was the front door was being almost eaten alive by the same growth covering the house, leaving the only the garage as an entrance.
"ACK!"
A jumped back, startled. he carefully looked towards the sound. Next to entrance, a figure was balled up shaking and groaning in pain, next to a suitcase. they both looked as if they'd fallen from a large height.
A advanced towards the creature.
"Uh...hello...?" A asked.
Leaning closer, A saw the figure was covered in short fur, Had large, triangular ears on top of it's head, and a snout. The snout, however did not include it's mouth, but only it's nose. His mouth was entirely separated from his snout. He wore torn clothes, resembling A's, in a way. He also appeared to have opposable thumbs, and other human like qualities.
-What is this thing? It's some kind of half-human, half-dog? Is that possible?-
The dog-person sat up, and shook his fists towards the houses.
"Damn it, Leboso! You'll pay for that!" He shouted.
A didn't know how to respond. He just sort of stared at it, as it knelt down and grabbed it's suit case. It stood on two legs, so it must have been humanoid, and it was about half his height too. It didn't wear shoes, but seemed to rely on it's padded feet to do the work for it. The creature looked at A.
"Do you need something, kid? If it's money, you can fuck right off."
"...You...alright, there?" A asked, surprised by his profane language.
"Uh-huh. fine. Now. If you'll just- " It responded.
"No offense, but I can't tell if you're a dog, or a human."
The creature was stunned by A's interruption. "Well...uh... A humanoid dog, I suppose."
A was really confused. "Could you... explain how that happened?"
The creature sighed. "Okay. My name's Abbott. I used to be a normal Great Dane. But then, Madam Leboso transformed me, so that I could be more useful to her"
A interjected; "Who are you talking about now?"
"Madam Leboso. The new master of this settlement. Y'know, took over a couple weeks ago, trying to transform this place into her palace. Speaking of which, I just introduced myself, and you didn't even introduce yourself."
A sighed. "My name's A. It's nice to meet you, Abbott. I've uh, lost my memories, and this house looks familiar to me, so I thought I'd investigate it."
Abbott raised his eyebrows. "Quite the story you've got there."
A laughed. "Yeah. Well, see you later, I suppose."
A turned toward the house, and A headed in, while Abbott followed behind him.
"Wait, you're going with me?" A asked, even more confused.
"For now. if Leboso doesn't let up, I've got no place to live." Abbott responded, nonchalantly.
"She threw you out?"
"For 'disturbing the peace.'"
"Well, I guess a little help never hurt anyone."
* * *
The inside of the house had been warped beyond imagination. The front hall was collapsing in on itself, strange vine-like substances were consuming the walls. entire rooms were covered, or repurposed, the upstairs was inaccessible, And large holes formed hallways connecting the all of the houses together. Inside of the throne room, were two thrones, made of silver, though Madam Leboso only sat on one of them. She was surrounded by multiple guards, and other mutated servants.
Madam Leboso was a large elderly lady, with a gothic black dress, and red eyes. Her skin was pale, and her nose long and pointed. she had wrinkled hands, and white, slightly curled hair.
She greeted Abbott and A, grinning to reveal her disgusting yellow teeth.
"Why, hello there." She said. Her voice was very screechy, but besides that, almost cliché of a grandmother's voice.
A stood there, feeling something strange about her. It felt strange, like something inside of him was driving him to violence.
Abbott pulled on A's hand. "Dude. Might want to, I don't know, take a knee in front of royalty."
Leboso slammed her hand down on her throne. "Abbott! What. Are. You. Doing. Here...?"
Abbott sighed, and stood up. "A, my temporary companion here, lost his memory, and believes this house will somehow restore them."
Leboso laughed. "Get this pup out of here." She ordered.
Abbott sighed, as the guards came for him.
A stepped in front of Abbott. Leboso became furious.
"Are you INSANE?! MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, CHILD!!" She screamed, as loudly as she could, slamming her fist down on her thrown, creating a tiny crack in the armrest.
"Uh... A?" Abbott asked, confused.
"What?" A asked, gripping the chair leg, as tightly as he could.
"Your eyes... they're swirling."
A was about to ask what he meant, when Abbott yelped, and ducked down. A saw the chair leg move quickly from the right side of his field of vision, directly at Madam Leboso, while her eyes became wide with fresh fear.
