When detention is finally over, I grab my pink bag and pack my sketchbook and pencils. At least I got some designs done.

Ms. Mendeleiev leaves before us, leaving the classroom door open.

I walk past Adrien and near the door.

"Marinette wait." He called from behind me. "I need to talk to you."

OMG.

Adrien Agreste wants to talk to me.

Alone.

On Valentines Day.

I turn to face him, my checks heating up. "Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?" He said as he carefully put his gloves on.

OMG. OMG.

Is Adrien gonna ask me OUT?!

"Sure." I say blushing a deeper red.

"Are you..."

"...free?" I finished.

"No." He said shaking his head. "I was gonna ask...Are you...Ladybug?" He said, whispering the last part.

I froze.

"Ha ha." I laugh nervously. "Of course not..."

Jeez I was bad at lying.

"Now that I think about it, you never seem to be there during ANY of the akuma attacks, even at my birthday party when the Bubbler showed up..." Adrien said skeptically.

I look away and fidget with my fingers. "I guess I'm just...lucky?"

Adrien laughs humorlessly. "Yeah, right. Tell me the truth Marinette."

I take a deep breath. "You're right. I am Ladybug."

He looks shocked, like he didn't expect me to confess.

"And while we're being honest, I wanted to tell you something." I continue. "I...um...like you...Adrien..."

His eyes widen even more and he freezes on the spot.

"Please don't tell anyone about me being Ladybug. No body else knows." I say before dashing quickly out the door and across the courtyard.

-

I stumbled into my chair, holding my head up by my temples.

After all this time...

It's been...

...Marinette?

-

I scramble up the stairs and close my trapdoor quietly.

I burry my burning face into my pillow.

"Marinette?" A high pitched voice said, concerned. "What's wrong?"

That's right. I accidentally left Tikki at home today.

"I confessed to Adrien..." I say sitting up.

"That's great!" Tikki squeals.

"...and I told him I was Ladybug." I finished.

Tikki gaped at me dumbfounded. "WHAT?!"

She whisper screamed so my parents wouldn't hear her.

"WellitwasmorelikehefigureditoutandheaskedmeifIwasLadybug." I explain quickly. "AndyouknowhowbadIamatlyingsoIhadtotell
himthetruth."

Tikki nodded solemnly. "I understand Marinette, just don't tell anyone else."

I nod.

"Are you sure he won't tell anyone?"
