This is the first in a trilogy. It follows Anastasia Heartfilia through her life as a student at Fairy Tail Reform School, a school for young criminals. What happens when the very last thing she wanted to happen does?
Note: While typing ErzaS...
I walked back to the dorm, it was a little past sun-down. I made my way to the fifth floor and realized, I didn't have any pajamas. I knocked on Erza's door.
"Um, may I borrow a pair of pajamas?" I asked, and she nodded, pulling a set out of seemingly nowhere. I thanked her and went down to my room. I took a shower and got changed before going into the bedroom. I lay down on the bed, and instantly fell asleep, I hadn't slept in a real bed for as long as I hadn't read a book.

I woke up to find a set of clothes at the foot of the bed. I figured it was Erza and thought nothing of it. I took them into the bathroom and found a comb, toothbrush, and the concealer. Yep, definitely Erza. She must've had extra, or Makarov gave her some to give to me. I put on the concealer and the clothes, combing my hair and brushing my teeth. I looked in the mirror.

I gotta hand it to her, Erza's got good taste. I walk out of the dorms once more, and to the place I know to be a cafe. Weird right, why would there be a cafe on campus? Well, as far as I've seen, there are no walls. This place is HUGE, practically it's own little town.
I went in and found a silver-haired maiden behind a glass case filled with baked goods. Behind her was an array of machines, and a window, which I presumed lead to the kitchen. Above her, on a ledge was a row of chalkboards, item names filled them, but the funny thing, no prices. There wasn't even a cash register. I approached her, and she greeted me with a friendly smile.
"Hello! You must be new, I'm Mirajane, but you can call me Mira." She held out her hand for me to shake, which I did.
"I'm Ana Rose. It's nice to meet you." I removed my hand before asking my question.
"What's the deal with the menu, there are no prices, and you don't have a cash register," I said, and she quickly explained.
"People don't have to pay, but it's considered nice since the school pays for us to work here, for our housing everything, and if you get a job around the school, you can earn money. It's not real, though. Just pieces of paper with some designs, and the Fairy Tail symbol. Speaking of which, you don't seem to have one, would you like me to give you one?" I thought, they looked like tattoos, but I figured I had to get one at some point.
"Don't worry, it doesn't hurt, and it's not permanent. It goes away once your time at Fairy Tail is done." She explained.
"Sure," I replied, sticking out my right hand. She grabbed a stamper.
"What color?" She asked and I thought for a moment.
"Black, please." She nodded and stamped my hand. A faint glow emitted from the stamp, but I ignored it. She removed it, and on my hand was a black Fairy Tail symbol.
"May I have a chocolate chip muffin? I haven't had one in forever." I asked, and she nodded, going through a door I hadn't seen, and coming out a few moments after with a perfect muffin.
"Thank you," I said, leaving. I walked around, eating my muffin as I did so. While walking past some trees, I heard a familiar voice.
"Ana! Come over and eat brunch with us!" Erza exclaimed happily, gesturing for me to come over the base of two trees, where two benches were placed, facing each other. Natsu and Gray sat on one, and Erza on the other. I walked over and took a seat next to Erza.
"Good morning. Thank you for the clothes, Erza." I said politely.
"It's no problem, I have too many anyway." She said dismissively. She took a bite of the strawberry cheesecake she was eating, savoring it with stars in her eyes. I giggled, and she looked at me.
"What's funny?" She asked with genuine confusion.
"Nothing, it's just that I haven't seen such a brave-faced person show a sweet tooth for so long." I giggled, and she smiled at me.
"I like what you did with your hair, by the way." She said, and a started to play with a lock of it.
"Thanks," I said, a little embarrassed. I've never really been complimented before, at least not with pure intention. Natsu and Gray looked at me while Erza dug into her cheesecake. I tilted my head, looking at the boys with a confused hum.
"What is it?" I ask, and Natsu answers.
"You act weird. Like you haven't had a lot of good experiences, and no human interaction in a while." I nodded.
"Well, it's true. I was in prison for..." I trailed off, "That's why I came to the school the way I did." I agreed.
"And in order for someone to kill, they must have had quite a few bad experiences." Erza nodded with a glazed look in her eyes like she was remembering something from long ago. I was confused as to what she was remembering, but I saw the pain in her glossy eyes, so I awkwardly hugged her. She turned, hugging me back.
"Thank you." She whispered before releasing me and becoming stoic once more.
"Why'd you hug her?" Natsu asked with curiosity.
"Idiot! You don't ask that sort of thing!" Gray shouted.
"Well I just did, Ice-Prick!"
"What'd you call me, Flame Brain?!"
"You heard me, Elsa!"
"Ash-for-Brains!"
"Slanty eyes!"
"Droopy Eyes!" Soo enough a fight had broken out, names and fists were flying, and Erza did nothing, too engrossed in her cheesecake. I got mad and shouted.
"ENOUGH! If you two don't knock it off I'll be adding two more to my death count!" They looked up, not moving as if they were frozen in time. Erza looked up, too. She placed a hand on my shoulder, catching her attention. She smiled, and I calmed myself down.
"Sorry, I have a short fuse." I apologized, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. They nodded in understanding, telling me that it's perfectly okay. They sat back down and Erza proposed something.
"You should meet the rest of our friends." Natsu quickly chimed in.
"Yeah! You're one of us now!"
"Mhm, you're a friend." Gray agreed.
"Friends? Yeah, I like that." I said with a smile, a real, genuine, grin.
