FOUR

The bell ringed. Class would start again now. The last two periods would always be English class but Changbin liked that. He was not the person who'd like to talk much but he loved writing or reading. Not those uninteresting teen fictions, but books with a deeper message and meaning, with characters he could relate to.

And it was the only class where he sat alone. Which was another reason why he loved English class so much.

Then something catched his attention. People were talking more loudly but then paying attention for once. 'New guy' was something he heard them whisper and hoped that it wouldn't be that Felix Lee guy.

But it was.

There he stood with his annoying bright red hoodie, fidgeting with its sleeves. His trousers were black, at least one thing that Changbin liked. Felix was smiling while introducing himself and Changbin knew some girls already started swooning over him. It made him cringe.

"Very nice Felix, welcome. You can sit next to Changbin, he sits alone anyways."
even the English teacher seemed to like him already, the way she warmly smiled at him was too obvious.

Then it hit Changbin. Red-hoodie-guy Felix Lee would sit next to him. With that annoyingly pretty face. English class probably became Changbins most hated class in that exact moment.

Felix on the other hand seemed pleased, sitting next to Changbin. He had moved his chair way too close in Changbins opinion and within minutes Felixs stuff was spread over the whole table. Couldn't he like keep to himself? Respect personal space?

"Where do you live?"
Felix then whispered into Changbins direction and Changbin forced himself to not look at him.

"In this town."

"Oh wow, I do, too. Where in this town do you live?"

"Where the house of my grandma is."

"You live with your grandma?"
the blonde guy now surely was interested and Changbin was angry with himself, he could have just said something different. How stupid.

"Yes."
he answered sharply, hoping Felix would stop being nosy.

"Why don't you live with your parents?"

Changbin now looked Felix in the eyes, stared him down. He didn't like explaining things. He hated talking about his parents. And he would not talk about them to that Felix guy.

Felix seemed to notice that Changbin had tears in his eyes and decided to not ask any further questions, realizing he had hit Changbins soft spot.

After English class was over Changbin left quickly, not giving Felix the opportunity to say something again. But that sparked Felix's interest even more. Changbin was different from the others and seemed cold but Felix was sure there was a reason for it. Felix was sure Changbin was a good person and he wanted to get to know him better.

After all, Changbin stood out and even though Felix seemed to be that typical nice guy who'd get along with everyone, he was getting tired of hanging out with people who wouldn't want to have deeper friendships.

A few girls approached him right away and he smiled at them which made them happy, obviously. They were giggling. The girls were talking to him and not leave his side when he left the classroom. Felix listened to them, waiting to hear something interesting.

"I'm so sorry you have to sit next to Changbin. He's a little weird, don't take it seriously."
one girl told him. Felix hated judgemental people, but he ignored the anger he suddenly felt and asked her why Changbin was 'weird'.

"He like never talks. To anyone. Moved here about three years ago because his parents died in a car crash. He also always wears dark clothes. Don't try talking to him though, he's getting annoyed easily and when he does he gets really rude."

Felix furrowed his brows again, thinking. So that was the reason why Changbin had reacted strangely when being asked about his reason for living with his grandma. He felt bad for having asked that, Changbin surely had felt hurt, having to think about what happened.

The girls were decent, asking him questions which he answered. Some of them were really pretty and he was sure that they were more or less popular. Which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. They were judgemental towards Changbin though. And that was something Felix despised.

Felix knew that Changbin could be 'kind of' rude by now, but still he thought that no one should ever judge a person's behaviour. And if Changbins parents had passed away three years ago, it was only normal for him to react to that, in his case, shutting out the world and people around him.

It probably was Changbins way of coping with sadness, grief. And that was okay. Maybe, if people would just accept that and be nice to him even though he wasn't, he'd get better. At least that's what Felix thought.

"Hey Felix, do you have a girlfriend?"
another girl asked, and Felix mentally rolled his eyes at her.

"Honey I'm gay."

The girls were quiet for a short time. Then one started giggling.

"So, do you have a boyfriend?"
she asked, smiling, and Felix smiled back at her.

"Not yet, I'll be working on it."
he winked at her and she blushed a little, after all Felix was an attractive young man.

"So, you have already laid your eyes on someone?"
the brunette grinned. Felix was glad they weren't being rude about the whole thing.

In his last school he got bullied because of it at some point, but managed to break though it, being confident and showing strength. Now he wasn't ashamed or hiding it anymore, since he had learned that if he was being confident about himself and his sexuality people would be more accepting.

"Hell yes, I did."
he thought, telling the girls he had not found anyone that was his type yet.
