FIVE

The next day at lunch Felix sat down at Changbins table again. The boy in the dark grey hoodie looked at him with an annoyed expression but removed his headphones in case Felix would start talking again.

Which... was new. Changbin usually would not do that.

"I'm sorry for asking about your parents yesterday, that was rude and insensitive. How was your day so far?"
Felix took a sip of his drink and smiled at Changbin who froze for a second.

No one had ever apologized that genuinely for asking about his parents, and it had been a long time since anyone except his grandmother had asked him about how his day had been.
Even though Changbin was slightly annoyed by the fact that he couldn't listen to music while eating, he smiled back a little, somehow really liking that Felix apologized.

"So far as boring as always."

Changbins days always went the same. He would go to school and at home do his homework. Then his grandma would call him for dinner and ask how his day had been. He'd always reply with 'nice'.

It was not that his grandma hated him or that he could not stand her. She had never been a chatterbox and after his parents death Changbin had become really quiet. On top of that he had never been exactly close to his grandmother, when he was little he had only visited her on Christmas and gotten a short phonecall on his birthday.

For both of them, the situation was new, weird and hard. His grandmother had lost her only son, not long after losing her husband, she had a hard time too.

"Did you do your homework? The one for English class?"
Felix deep voice interrupted Changbins thoughts and made him look up from his food.

"Yes."
he only answered, then looking away again, continuing to eat his lunch.

"I really didn't understand what our teacher wanted, can you help me with it? Please?"

Changbin stopped eating and stared at Felix. He was confused. No one ever asked him for help even though he was a really good student. People just knew Changbin hated being around others and figued he wouldn't like helping them.

"Did you just not do it, or did you really not understand the assignment?"

"To be honest: both. We're still unpacking our things and I was going to do english homework after dinner and it got like really late. I was tired and didn't know what she wanted me to do so I just figured I should ask someone and go to sleep."

Changbin was quiet for some time and thought about whether or not he should help Felix. The problem was, that he could understand why Felix was struggling. When he first came he had faced similar problems, but he had always been good in school, so he worked hard until it was easy for him again. It wasn't like he didn't have anything else to do anyways.
At the same time, if he helped Felix this time, he would have to help him out other times as well, which meant he had to spend time with him.

Today Felix wore a green hoodie. Changbin hated that colour. It was annoyingly bright.

"Okay but make it quick."
he finally sighted, which made Felix smile at him.

After Changbin had finished eating Felix took out the paper where the assignments were being written on and some blank paper. Because he had already done his homework, Changbin didn't need much time to explain what Felix would need to do.

While listening attentively, Felix noticed that Changbin had a very nice, calming voice when talking. Because he had not heard him talking for a longer time, Felix was kind of surprised about that. Also, Changbin seemed to be smart. The way he explained things actually made sense and in the end Felix thought that doing his homework that way was kind of fun.

The dark-haired boy on the other hand, even though he would never admit that, had fun  explaining it to Felix. The blonde guy looked cute while listening and even cuter when concentrating on writing. With slightly furrowed brows he would bite his plump, pink bottom lip which Changbin couldn't help but stare at.

"You're staring... again."
Felix grinned, still writing. How had he noticed? He hadn't even looked at Changbin...
Still, Changbin was blushing a little, being caught.

Felix didn't say it, but he thought it was adorable when Changbin blushed. Also, Changbin staring at him boasted his self-esteem a lot, which was another reason why Felix liked it. Lastly, Changbin staring at him probably meant Changbin was not heterosexual. At the thought of that Felix chuckled a little. He liked the idea of that.

"You done now?"
his cold voice asked, Felix looked at him.

"Yeah. Thanks a lot!"

"That means I can leave now?"
Changbin had one eyebrow raised and seemed to be ready to leave. Well, he was ready to leave, only waiting for it.

"Yes of course. Can I come with you?"
while asking, Felix's puppy eyes widened, hoping that Changbin would said yes.

"No, why?"
it was more of an annoyed grumble than an actual question coming out of the dark haired boy's mouth.

"Just don't wanna be alone."
Felix shrugged and put his pencil and papers into his bag.

"You can ask other people. They'll be nicer to you than I am."
They looked at each other's eyes.

"What if I don't want to ask other people?"
Changbin stood up so Felix did the same.

"Then-"

This time it was Felix who cut Changbin off.

"I don't see why I couldn't spend the rest of our break with you. Our lesson will start in like, what, ten minutes? What's the problem?"
now the blonde was annoyed.

"I want to listen to music. And not talk. You like talking. That's the problem."
Changbins facial expression had darkened, staring at Felix, also being annoyed.

"Okay then I won't talk to you."

Again, they stared into each other's eyes but this time Changbin had no reason to say 'no' anymore which made him sigh.

"Fine."
he mumbled.

Both left the cafeteria, Changbin walking fast and Felix following him around like a little puppy, happily. They entered the classroom where they would have English class together because Changbin liked being as far away from people as possible and the classrooms would mostly be empty during lunch break.

Well, now he wasn't far away from people because one particular person was sitting close to him, obviously bored. Confused, Changbin put in his headphones, thinking about why Felix wanted to come with him. There had not been a moment when Changbin had been really nice to him, why was he being so persistent?

"I forgot my headphones, would you mind sharing yours?"
now he was talking again. Changbin regretted saying yes.

"Yes."

"Please?"

Changbin rolled his eyes and shared his headphones with Felix, who seemed pleased about getting what he wanted. The blonde put the earpiece he had been given into his ear, being quiet for a while, concentrating on the music.

"You listen to Maroon 5?"

"You promised you wouldn't talk."

"Sorry.. But I really like that song."

Changbin turned away and smiled. As annoying as Felix was, he was cute... at least somehow. And music was the way to Changbins heart. Felix liking songs he liked made him a little less annoying. Only a little bit.

But maybe that little bit could be the start of something bigger.
