Jiper/Pileo ~ Rocky Roads

Piper

Piper stood on the beach of camp half blood out of breath. She had just ran fifteen km around the cabins. It had been a while since she got to spend some time by herself, especially since Jason Grace had broken her heart and ran away to Europe. The very thought of him crushed her heart. When she finally got the courage to build it up again, she saw him and it fell back apart. But Jason had moved on and so should she. But after he left she had gotten better, she got into more fitness and exercised daily.

The sun had set on the beautiful sky. She sat down on the cold, damp sand and looked at it for a while.

"BEAUTY QUEEN!" she heard a familiar voice call. She turned around and surprisingly it was Leo. Leo had left for the summer to backpack though Europe with Jason and Percy. Leo had gotten stronger and he even had a small beard. His curly brown hair had been lightened and his skin was tanner.

"Leo!" She scolded "I told you not to call me that!"

"Hey! C'mon it had caught on!" He said as he hugged her. She could smell the sickly sweet smell of alcohol in his breath. She pulled away.

"Were you drinking!?" She yelled, hitting his shoulder hard. He winced in pain.

"Pipes relax it's okay it was just for the trip." He said chuckling. But Piper was upset with Leo. How could he put himself in danger like this? What if he had started babbling and gotten a monsters attention. She frowned.

They walked back to camp. Percy and Annabeth were cuddling by the fire drinking hot chocolate. She didn't even dare look for Jason. Percy ran over to Piper and wrapped his arms around her quickly hugging her. Percy's hug was unfamiliar to her. It was strong but also really sincere. She smiled at the gesture.

"I need to talk to you." He whispered in to Piper's ear. She led him near the Aphrodite cabin and he told her his big secret.

"I want to propose to Annabeth." He said softy and quietly like Annabeth was standing feet away from him.

"Oh gods that's wonderful! How can I help?" She asked eagerly.

"Well..." As he told her his plan, Piper kept thinking how crazy he was. But she decided to go along with it. Percy was her friend after all.

When they walked back to the fire, Piper did exactly as she was told. Percy went and sat back down with Annabeth and Piper stomped hr way over to them.

"How could you just leave me for her!" Piper screamed trying not to laugh.

"I told you I am done with you!" Percy yelled back as serious as he had ever been.

"What is going on here?!" Annabeth asked breaking in to tears.

"Did that kiss mean anything to you?" Piper screamed. After that the whole camp was looking their way. Piper oddly seemed to like acting, it came naturally.

Annabeth started to get up and run away. Before Percy grabbed her arm and bent down on one knee.

"Will you marry me?" He asked. Annabeth didn't look so sure.

"But you and-"

"It was just an act. We wanted to get people's attention." Percy interrupted. Percy looked at Piper. Piper smiled and nodded in agreement. Annabeth quickly softened her expression.

"Well in that case YES!" She yelled sliding the silver engagement ring on her tiny finger. Percy stood up and kissed her. The whole camp cheered including Jason. Piper glimpsed at him ever so slightly that if hadn't already been looking at her he wouldn't have noticed. In that mila second of a moment she saw a petit girl beside him kiss him on the cheek. That's when she looked away.

"I forgot to tell you" Leo whispered realizing what she just noticed. "Jason got a new girlfriend in Europe, Im sorry Pipes." With that Piper had enough.

Piper ran as fast as she could tears streaming down her face. She could hear footsteps behind her but she never looked back. She went to the only vacant place. Zeus' cabin.
