"Well, she can work and dine," Lilith chirped. I didn't understand what the girl saw in me, but she began rubbing off me and even making me smile a little. Angel grinned at his friend while Mrs. Meyers frowned but rolled her eyes.
"Whatever," her gaze filtered to me, "you better work."
Lilith sat in the back, Gabriel next to her, and Angel took a seat to his left. He patted the seat to his left, for me to sit. I smiled grateful at him. This would be the first time I sat at a dinner table since forever.
Aislin ran downstairs, gasping slightly. "Dom's car just pulled up."
Mrs. Meyers stood up straight like a reflex. She screamed for her husband to come downstairs, who didn't waste any time.
We heard the knob on the door jiggle, and wiggle creating a ruckus. My heartbeat quickened, as I realized who was going to waltz through that door.
The door busted open.
He walked in with a grand smile on his face, while a black jacket was around him.
"WELCOME HOME, DOMINIQUE!" everyone shrieked except me and surprisingly Angel.
Dom's smile grew as he took in the scenery. Then his devious gaze landed on me. His smile turned serpentine.
My worst nightmare continued.
