·ANGEL·

I nodded my head, telling Gabe and Lilith that they heard me right. Before I could react, I was shoved back by an angry Lil. I sighed creating space between us.

"And you didn't feel the need to tell us you had someone in your basement?! Against their will?!" she huffed.

I nodded once again, my voice failing me. She shook her head in disappointment and walked away. I managed to pick my head up and look at Gabe, who had his arms crossed in front of him.

"I get why you really couldn't do anything five years ago; you were fifteen. But what about now, Angel? Why couldn't you tell us earlier?" I saw the the sorrow they wore on their face, finding out that I didn't trust them. I didn't trust anyone to be honest.

"I'm sorry." I sat down on the bench, staring out at the park. "I... I couldn't trust anyone else. I could barely trust Dom, and he knew."

"I get it, okay? You were in a tight place. But please never keep something like this from us, man. We're your best friends." Gabe sat next to me. "We would never hurt her."

I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Want to meet her?"

"Of course. But wouldn't your parents be against it?"

"Usually, yes. But you can't let them know you know. And we're having a dinner party for Dom. I'm very sure that they're going to make her do something for the dinner. Just the sake to mess with her."

I hated my parents when they did that. When she needn't be with us, and they make her do it, just to rub in her face what she'd been missing.

"Well then yes," Gabriel stood up, with a softer expression. "Let me calm, Lil."

"Yeah. She's really mad."

"Yeah, you kind of fucked up about her getting a new friend," he tried to lighten the mood but the guilt floating over my heart was heavy enough to drown me. Gabe roughly rubbed my shoulders. "Don't worry about it, man. She'll be fine."

I stood up to stand taller then him. "Yo, when did you get so short?"

He rolled his eyes with a playful grin on his face. "It's a miracle! Angel Meyers is finally taller then Gabriel D' Evere! Oh shit, it's going down!"

"Loser," I laughed at him.

"Blind idiot."

That name was so far fetched and old; I was surprised to be hearing it again. Since first grade, I was always called a 'blind idiot.' Mostly because girls thought my eyes were so pretty, being a natural grayish blue eyed person. But the boys thought I looked like a blind old lady. An idiot for more emphasis. Therefore, I became the blind idiot. Lovely, ain't it?

"Can't believe you remember that," I coughed.

He coughed back, "can't believe you thought I forgot."

I swung an arm around his neck.

Lilith agreed to come to the dinner party. I was relieved on so many levels but I tried to hide it. She had quickly reassured me it was only to see how Aviana was. It was definitely not for me. Nonetheless, I was just happy to know that I didn't completely lose her trust. I have trust issues, and many others.

I was back home, changing into a light blue dress shirt and fated dark blue jeans. I combed my hair for five quick minutes, before I slipped back downstairs. Mom was spotted on the couch, on an iPad. She was looking at houses.

"Mom?" I called out, trying to make sure she's still not upset from this morning.

She turned to face me, but still not sharing eye contact. "Yes, baby?"

"What are you looking at?"

"Oh. Houses."

"Why?"

"For you. You need to consider the option of living by yourself. I love having my babies home, but my babies need to be grown."

I guess she didn't let it go. Exhaling through my mouth, I sat at the table that was already set.

"I'll look for houses myself. You don't need to burden yourself even more," I stated, but I was beyond irritated. She might as well kick me out the house already since she was so hellbent on me leaving. She shook her head.

"I want to help somehow."

I rolled my eyes not knowing how to deal with this. So I got up and trailed back up the stairs when I knocked into a petite body. In an automatic, my arms wrapped around the body, to keep it from falling. Two arms banded around my neck, clutching me close.

I peered down at Aviana who had her eyes tightly shut closed, still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that she almost plummeted down the stairs. Her small frame had fit mine so perfectly; I wanted to hold her for hours and hours.

"You're okay," I breathed huskily in her ear. Her eyes snapped open.

She jumped out my arms, moving away a healthy distance between us.

"That was awkward," she muttered softly.

"No. It was fine... I mean yeah, awkward," my mouth felt dry. I needed water and a whole lot of it. Aviana nodded her head.

The small action made me realize what she was wearing. I'd never seen Aislin wear that dress. I didn't care, because I knew for sure Aviana wore it better.

It appeared as a bluish violet silky nightgown that drizzled down to the mid of her thighs. It wasn't a nightgown because no one would wear that to bed. Her short legs were showed off perfectly though, and I loved the soft curve of her calves. My eyes grazed upward and lingered on her chest. Her breasts peaked out a little, thanks to the clothing that obtained a gentle v-neckline.

I noted her hair that was pulled up in a elegant bun. I devoured the sight of her.

Aviana scratched at her arm dismally. We didn't converge eyes, but I didn't miss how she consumed in the sight of me. Her eyes lingered on my chest, that heaved up and down repeatedly in a fast motion. She looked at me a smirk on her lips.

"You're breathing hard," she divulged shifting back and forth on her legs.

"I don't do well around gorgeous women," I conveyed. It was hard to detect, but I saw the blush that crept up her neck and colored her cheeks.

She muttered a thanks, and swerved past me. I watched her go down, only to slap myself on the head.

Why did I say that?!

"Well played, brother," Aislin chuckled coming out her room. She was wearing a long, pastel dress.

"Did you just eavesdrop on our conversation?"

She nodded, pretending to stare at her nails. "I saw you ogle at her, and she at you. It was totally not awkward."

"You're a creep, Ais."

"And you need to tell her how you feel, because I told her and she didn't believe me."

Annoyance bubbled inside me when Aislin admitted what she did. I should've known to keep something like that to myself.

"When the time is right," I said and turned to leave.
