"I got a new lab! I got a new lab! I got a new lab!" Uncle D sing-songed. We all rolled our eyes at his rediculousness.

"Whoa whoa," Bree said, "Don't you mean we got a new lab?"

"Excuse me," Uncle D corrected, "Did we pay to rebuild it?"

"Do you sleep in a glass box?" Bree asked, and Uncle D looked like he was at a loss for words.

"We got a new lab," I whispered, and Uncle D nodded.

"We got a new lab! We got a new lab!" Uncle D corrected, "And here it is."

The doors opened to reveal a brand new lab, redesigned from the ground up. Everything was upgraded or just looked cooler. There were even four capsules along the back wall! I felt so special...

"Guys! Look at all these upgrades!" Chase marveled as the rest of us oohed and ahhed, "Mr. Davenport, this place is amazing!"

"Of course it is, I designed it," Uncle D gloated, making Leo look at him.

"Ahem!" Leo interjected.

"Fine! WEEEE designed it!" Uncle D ranted, "We! We."

Uncle D then started the grand tour, "Upgraded capsules: BAM! Quantum processing super computer: BAM! Four-dimensional combat simulator: BAM! This, my friends, is what a multi-million dollar makeover looks like."

"Does it have a mini-fridge?" Adam asked.

"No," Uncle D deadpanned.

"I bet our real dad's lab has a mini-fridge," Adam muttered.

"Adam, stop being ungrateful," I said, "But on that note, uh, how am I supposed to sleep standing up."

"Ooh, that's one of the coolest features!" Uncle D said excitedly, pushing a few buttons on the new cyber desk. My capsule, which was to the left of Adam's, made a whirring noise, and shifted from vertical to horizontal. I was pretty thoroughly amazed.

"Hey, Leo? Where's your workstation?" Bree asked.

"This way children," Leo said.

"Children?" I asked, "I know I'm smaller than you, but they're not."

Leo just rolled his eyes at me and tapped a few buttons on his tablet. One of the hexagonal floor panels fell away, only to be replaced with another one containing Leo's workstation. I didn't think that my jaw could drop any more, but a worrying pop proved me otherwise.

"The floor in the lab is compartmentalized, meaning we can store things in it," Leo explained, then looking at Uncle D, "May I? BAM!"

I popped my jaw back into place as Chase saw another shiny object that caught his eye.

"Is that a nuclear magnetic resonant spectrometer?" Chase asked. He ran over to the shiny object and started fangirling around it.

"I've never seen one in person before!" Chase geeked, "It's so beautiful."

"I think you've been replaced with some nerdy techno-gadget," Bree quipped.

"What a surprise," I replied, and then to Chase, "Should we leave you two alone? I know how self conscious you can get when it comes to PDA."

He looked at me like I killed all of his hopes and dreams.

"Mr. Davenport, how did you afford all of this?" Bree asked.

"Well, I used some of the money from the jet wing stunt," Uncle D explained, "But the rest of it I got from a huge government contract I just signed. I am developing a rocket system to protect the earth from rogue asteroids. Thanks to this little baby I'm on my way back up rich man mountain and WHOOO the air smells better up here! Huh!"
