I slowly opened my eyes, squinting at the sunlight streaming onto my face.

Wait a second. I never woke up that way. I was always up at least an hour before dawn, even if I was dead tired. Something wasn't right.

Then it all came flooding back. Everything that had happened the day before. And I felt a horrible sinking feeling in my stomach.

Krane had won.

He had used the government satellites to beam the Triton App all over the world. And he had control over everyone.

Well, almost everyone.

"Okay, calm down Zoey," I thought to myself, "You freaking out isn't gonna help you get out of this mess."

I looked down at myself, and promptly groaned. As much as I liked that my blonde soldier self was tall, it was yet another fake part of a reality where I was struggling to find anything real.

Looking around me, I saw that I was in a pretty blank bedroom. It was cozy, but everything was white and unmemorable. It could've been much worse, but it was still a little unsettling.

I was yanked out of my observations by a light rapping on my bedroom door. I froze, not knowing what to do. I knew exactly who was at the door, and was sure that he expected me to act a certain way.

"Good morning, sweety," Krane said through the door softly, cracking it a bit. Panicking, I wracked the Triton side of my brain, looking for what I should reply.

"Autopilot mode," echoed through my head.

"Great," I thought, "What does that mean?"

"Autopilot mode."

Krane fully opened the door, so I went with the first idea that came to my mind.

I snapped my eyes shut and played dead. Maybe while I pretended to sleep I would think of something.

"Man, last night must've really taken a toll on you," Krane chuckled, walking in and sitting at the foot of my bed. I did everything in my power to keep up my act and not recoil away from him.

"I'll admit, I feel your pain in a way," Krane continued, "Running the world is a lot more difficult than I thought it'd be. I never thought I'd use the Triton App's autopilot feature, yet 6 billion people are on it right now."

Well, that explained my lack of instructions.

"Well, school starts in half an hour," Krane said, patting my shoulder and getting up, "See you downstairs."

He left the room, and I shot straight up. I had no idea what was going on, and more importantly, I didn't have the Triton App to tell me what to do anymore.

"Okay Zoey," I whispered to myself, "Just lay low until you figure out what's going on."

I slid out of the bed hesitantly, trying to move as silently as possible. I spotted a door on the other side of the room, and I padded over to it before carefully easing it open. As I expected, the door led to a small closet full of ambiguous white clothing. I picked out the first outfit I saw, and quickly changed into it. I checked myself in a nearby mirror- it didn't look awful, and that was good enough.
