Chapter 28 "Something Unusual"

Cloe's POV

I was browsing my news feed when mom called me.

"Cloetta Powell! go to my room this instance!"

"What did I do?" I asked with curiousity in my voice.

"Just go." Raffy said

I took a sharp look at him, I think something's going on. I wonder what it is.

I knocked first before I entered her room.

"Sit." she said as she gestured me to the chair next to her.

I sat down.

"Remember the time I arranged an entrance exam for you?" she asked

"The school in Switzerland?" I replied

"Exactly."

"What about it?" I asked curious.

"You failed."

"Yipee!" (^O^)

Actually I did it on purpose but heckyeah! I failed!

"Did you did this on purpose?!" she said with range

"Umm no." I said

"I'm very disappointed in you Cloe! you know how much I want this for you! this is even for your own good!" she yelled

"But I didn't want this! I want to be here! be with my friends and with you guys." I said

She remained silent.

"You already knew from the start what I wanted right? that to be a fashion designer and go to Paris and study there. Not in Switzerland and fulfill what you wanted for me!" I half-screamed

"I'm sorry okay, you know we don't have the budget for you to study there." mom said

"I know mom, but please don't force me to do something that I would regret." I said

"Okay, please forgive me if I had been hard on you and didn't noticed what you really wanted."

I laughed.

"You don't need to apologize anymore." I said as I was about to hug my mom.

But before I do it she fainted.

"Mom!" I said as I help her get up but she
was still unconscious.

"What's happening?" Raffy and Donny said in unison as they entered the room.

"OMG!" Donny said

"Dude are you gay?" Raffy said

"No, I'm just copying Cloe's expression." Donny said

"Look, stop fooling around and help mom!" I yelled

"Okay!" they said as they help me carry mom to the bed.

"Raffy get some ammonia. Donny help me massage mom's body so her blood will continue to circulate." I ordered

While Raffy was looking for some ammonia me and Donny continued to massage mom's hands and legs.

"Mommy please don't leave us!" Donny sobbed

"Shhh don't think negative thoughts!" I scolded

"Found it!" Raffy said as he handed me the ammonia.

"Open it and let her inhale it." I said

He followed my order and a few seconds later mom became conscious again.

"Mom!" we said in unison.

"Wha- What happened?" she asked

"Mom you fainted! good thing Cloe knew what to do!" Donny said

"Really?" she said as she smiled at me.

"Yeah, maybe she'll become a doctor one day." Raffy said

"Shut up!" I said as I spanked his arm.

"Ow!" mom said

"Here mom let me help you to bed." I volunteered

"Thanks!" she said

"By the way mom are you sick or something?" I asked

"No I'm not maybe I'm just so stressed." she said

"You better rest now." I said as I put on her blanket.

She closed her eyes and we watched her sleep. Does she have a serious disease? why won't she tell us, she knows we can help? I hope she'll be okay.

Cloe's Mom POV

While the kids are at school I went to the hospital to have a check-up. The doctor made some few test on me so I waited for the results.

"Hi doc!" I greeted

"Hi Mrs. Powell have a seat." she pointed the seat infringing of her table.

"So, did you experience being over fatigue nowadays?" she asked

"Sometimes." I answered

"Are you having a hard time breathing?"

"Not much, I had a hard time when I'm tired."

"Hmm okay, I checked your results and the bad news is you have a minor heart problem." she said

"What kind of a heart problem?" I asked

"We still couldn't determine the name but you could be on remission if you undergo through a surgery."

"Ohhh." I said as I stare on the price that I will pay if I undergo to that surgery.

"That can be passable if you will have enough rest. But if you continue to be stressed your condition could worsen."

"Okay." I said

"Here are the list of the medicines you need to take." she said as she gave me a paper.

"Thank you." I replied as I left the clinic.

Me a heart problem? how? I don't know how to tell my children about this. I also don't have enough money to pay the surgery the doctor said. I also need money for Cloe's college for her to be happy. I hope my disease would just go away and be normal again. I wish I had a better job and a higher salary so I can fulfill all our needs. I didn't expect I'll be a widow early, It's just life is full of surprises and we don't know what's next. I don't want my children to be worried about me. Maybe I'll just not tell them about this and not be a big problem to them.
