Chapter 31 "Tears"

Lily's POV

It's been two months since Cloe and Louie became official. Two months of happiness, two months of contentment for them. While me, I was stuck with two months of grievance and sadness. Yes, me and Manny broke up at the same day they became official.

<Flashback>

"Yes!" Cloe said

The crowd cheered for them. I watched them from afar and smiled upon seeing my bestfriend being happy.

"We need to talk." I gasped when Manny whispered near my ear.

I felt a strong emotion shivered down my spine. I'm afraid that something bad would happen.

"Okay." I answered biting my lower lip.

"Phew!" he deep sighed.

"Is there a problem?" I asked as I pat his shoulder.

"Do you remember the day we became official?" he said trying to dodge my question.

"Of course, it was like the best day of my life!" I answered cheerfully.

"I just want to say thank you for the memories even if I don't deserved it." He said

"What do you mean by deserved? are you trying to say something?" I said

"Believe it or not I love you Lily, you're the most special person tha-"

"Quit dodging my question! What are you trying to say?!" I raised my voice so my tears would not fall down easily.

I knew this would happen.

"I'm breaking up with you...." He said his eyes watery.

"I knew it! you're all the same! I wish I should've loved again." I cried as my knees became weak.

"I'm sorry..." he said as he hugged me.

"That's just what you're good at! Apologizing! you keep doing that but it just wouldn't change anything!" I yelled.

"I don't know what to say. I think you just deserve someone better. Someone who'll love you as much as you love them. I'm really sorry, forgive me." he said

I loosened in his tight hug and walked away not looking back.

That's how our love story ended. It was indeed unfair. Life is really unfair, it has it's ups and downs you'll not know what's next. It has it's beginning, climax and also an end. You're lucky if you get a happy one.

"Staring into space again huh?" Cloe said as she pat my shoulder.

"Don't worry we're here for you." Alex said

"I-I just couldn't move on." I said

"Whether you choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could've been. LIFE GOES ON!" Cloe said

"What are you trying to say?" I asked

"She's trying to cheer you up." Alex said

While we are talking. Manny appeared with his new girlfriend.

"Great." I said bowing my head.

"I think we need to go." Cloe said picking up our things.

I took one last glance on him and saw them flirting with each other.

Perfect.

I'm such a noob falling for you Manny. I wish I could turn back time and undo the past, or should I say our past.

"Unbelievable!" Alex said through gritted teeth.

"Let's just go." I told them.

Nick's POV

I went to the library and saw Lily at a table near the bookshelf.

"Hey." I greeted

She smiled at me, a weak smile.

"So you're studying huh? that's new!" I said trying to cheer her up.

She nodded.

"I heard the news." I said

She remained silent.

"I'm sorry. It's just sometimes you just meet the wrong people first before you find the right one for you." I said

"Huh?" she said

"What I'm trying to say is quit hurting yourself and start moving on. You deserve someone better." I said

"Okay." she said.

I smiled.

"Thanks for the advice." she said

"No prob." I said

A tear escaped from her eye. I gave her my handkerchief.

"Use this, it would help." I said

"I gotta go. Thanks again." she said as she left.
