Misaki woke up that next morning to the smell of something burning and it wasn't the burning or reek of Akihiko's cigarettes, which meant that the novelist had to be cooking. The young adult sighed, hoping his 32 year old lover hadn't burned down the apartment yet as he walked out into the hallway making his way toward the kitchen.
"Ohayō!" Akihiko said, continuing to focus on the breakfast he was trying to make which (unsurprisingly) was burned already. Misaki groaned as he turned off the stove.
"Usagi-san, what do you do or what do you want?" Misaki asked (fully aware that silver haired male only cooked when he wanted something from him or he did something wrong) and Akihiko nodded plainly.
"I want to tell Takahiro about us." Misaki froze in anxiety, he wanted to do what?
"Usagi-san, we both know that's not a good idea."
"Misaki, we've been together for about four years now. I think it's time we tell him or he'll never know about us!" Misaki clenched his fist angrily yet nervously and Akihiko sighed. "I don't want to argue about Misaki, but he's going to find out somehow. It's better if we tell him then him walking in on us." Misaki frowned before his face soften to the realization that Akihiko was right, so he nodded solemnly.
"You're right Usagi-san, I call nii-chan and invite him and his family for dinner. Alright?" Akihiko smiled softly as he nodded and kissed Misaki's cheek, making his lover blush with embarrassment while he chuckled.
"Thank you. I need finish this manuscript or Aikawa might actually murder me." Akihiko joked and walks to his office as Misaki laughed with a hint of fear within it while walking to the kitchen. He sighed heavily and a chill went up and down his spin as he realized he just agreed to tell his brother, Akihiko's ex- crush of ten years, that his best friend is dating his little brother, which is ten years younger than the both of them. That was when Misaki screamed so loud that the echo shook the entire city of Tokyo.
LATER THAT EVENING
Misaki was cooking his brother's favorite dish (which is his speciality) Tonjiru with rice balls. The doorbell rang and Akihiko walked up to the door, opening it finding the Takahashi Family all bright with smile.
"Good evening Usagi-san." Takahiro said as he and his family walked inside the apartment and he shook Akihiko's hand.
"It's nice to see you Takahiro, you too Manami." Akihiko said as he and Takahiro stopped shaking hands while Mahiro ran up to Misaki (or to Mahiro, Mitaki).
"Mitaki! Mitaki!" Mahiro yelled happily as he hugged Misaki's legs and Misaki smiled whiled he picked up the three year old toddler.
"Oh Mahiro, you've gotten so big. I hope you're not causing any trouble for your mommy and daddy." Misaki said as he carried the little boy over to the sofa, joining the rest of the family and Mahiro reached for Akihiko.
"Unagi! Unagi!" Akihiko groaned in annoyance as the Takahashi Family laughed the boy's nickname for the novelist and he glared at his lover, who stopped immediately switching over to hasty retreat.
"I'm going to check on dinner." Misaki said as he speed walked over to the kitchen and Takahiro's head went up.
"Oh what are you making?" Takahiro asked curiously and Misaki smiled brightly.
"Your Favorite: Tonjiru with rice balls, I'm also making some sautéed salmon to go along with it." Misaki responded and Takahiro hummed in response. After a few moments, Everyone was sitting at Akihiko's dining table with Misaki and Akihiko on one side while Takahiro and Manami sat on the other with Mahiro.
"Itadakimasu." They said before they started to eat and Takahiro started their conversation.
"So Misaki, how's the senior year of college life?" Takahiro asked as Misaki chewed on a piece of his rice balls and he swallowed.
"It's fine. My passing all my class with A's and one B from my Literature class." Misaki said before sipping some of his soup and Takahiro started thinking for a moment.
"Usagi-san, doesn't Hiroki work at Mitsuhashi University?" Takahiro asked Akihiko and he nodded with a laugh.
"Who's Literature class do you think he's taking? Misaki is actually thriving considering how passionate Hiroki is about Literature." Akihiko said and Misaki glared at him as he swallowed a piece of salmon.
"If you believe throwing books and pieces of chalk at students is passionate, then he's in love with Literature." Misaki said, rolling his eyes as he picked up his cup and Takahiro laughed while he sipped his water.
"That sounds like Hiroki. Anyway Misaki, are you seeing anyone?" Misaki choked on his water and swallowed it hard as Akihiko's amethyst irises shifted over from Takahiro to Misaki.
"W-well, there has someone special in my life for some time now." Misaki admitted shyly and Akihiko chuckled under his breath as Takahiro beamed.
"Really?! Misaki that's great, what are they like?" Misaki cleared his throat and sat up straighter.
"Well they're m-my..my..." Misaki blushes hard red and looked down into the table. "My other half." Everyone's eyes widened, especially Akihiko's and that made Misaki blush even harder. "T-they're really special to me, I don't think I could ever be without them. They make me feel so loved and I...." Misaki grabbed Akihiko's hand from under the table as he sniffed and he felt Akihiko squeezes his hand with affection. "I love them, a lot and I don't want to be without them." Akihiko smiled as Takahiro did and Manami awed.
"Misaki, this is great. I wonder who she is." Takahiro said with a smile and Misaki sighed.
"He." Takahiro blinked in confusion.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" Misaki sighed again and looked up to meet his brother's gaze.
"He, the person I love is a man." Takahiro's eyes widen and Manami stood frozen with this weird, sort of (is) creepy smile.
"Misaki, I won't lie I'm surprised and a little disappointed that you didn't really tell me this in private." Takahiro said sternly and Misaki frowned as Takahiro sighed with a smile. "But as long as you are happy, than I will support your relationship with this man you speak of so fondly." Misaki smiled.
"Thank you nii-chan, I really appreciate it because they're really great and I know you would like him." Takahiro nodded.
"Well I can't wait....to meet him?" Takahiro stopped in mid-sentence when he noticed Misaki's and Akihiko's hands were intertwined and he looked up at the both them, his eyes widening with realization as Manami squealed.
"Oh Misaki-kun I'm so happy for the both of you!" She screamed before running over to give them both a hug. "And with the new gay protective laws, you could get married!!!" Misaki laughed nervously as Akihiko smirked.
"We'll see." Misaki breathed out and he blushed Akihiko kissed his cheek. Manami giggled before turning her head to find her husband in a state of shock.
"Takahiro, honey?" Takahiro stood up and towered over the table, his hands gripping it cloth in anger.
"Akihiko, when did this relationship start?" Takahiro said low and dangerous, driving a chill down all of the adult's spines as Akihiko cleared his throat.
"About four years ago." Akihiko answered and Takahiro smiled amusingly yet angrily.
"Around the time he moved in with you?" Akihiko raised an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"I see, please answer me this question. Have you and Misaki had sex?" Takahiro asked in seriousness as he looked at the couple menacingly and they gulp, knowing how this would end? "Please tell me you didn't take away my little brother's virginity?" Akihiko laughed nervously.
"About that, you see..." Akihiko stopped there before he started running as Takahiro ran after him and Mahiro started cheering at it.
"Unagi and Dady run run." Mahiro cheered as Manami laughed while Misaki panicked and went after the two adults running around the apartment.
