luke wasn't necessarily one to be optimistic all the time, he very often had his moments where he just couldnt find the good in things. he found that it was easier for himself to be upset and angry than to be happy about everything, simply because there isn't always a silverlining. he was able to find the bad in everything and make the choice whether or not he was going to get himself caught up in his bad emotions.

so it wasn't uncommon for luke's thoughts to race tonight; it was just one of those nights. his mind was compiling all of the negatives in his life into one giant mess and he was getting to the point of breaking. ashton always helped him with these things, because ashton was practically his lifeline. he quickly and quitely slipped into ashtons room, which happened to be right next his, and stood by the doorway. it was late, so ashton was asleep.

luke wasnt supposed to be out of his room after eleven o'clock, but most of the administration knew of him and ashtons friendship. the blonde bite his lip before walking over to ashtons bed and shaking on his arm. ashton grunted before slowly opening his eyes, trying to focus them on whatever was waking him.

'luke? is everything alright?' luke shook his head as tears slowly started to fill his eyes and he wanted a hug so badly. ashton sat up and looked at him with sad eyes. he pulled back the sheets for luke to crawl in, and the blond quickly did so. snuggling up to ashtons side, he started crying, letting his emotions spill out of his body.

ashton wrapped his arms around the boy and tried to get him to calm down. there were times in the past where administration had heard luke crying and come to take him for therapy and ashton knew how much luke hated having to talk to people he didnt know all that well, especially about his feelings.

once luke had calmed down a bit, ashton moved into a position where he was sitting in front of luke. he smiled lightly at him before asking what was keeping him up so late. luke sighed before replying.

'i dont wanna be here,' ashton pouted at the boy, because he knew where he was coming from. the place wasn't horrible, hell it was probably one of the greatest orphanages there was, but being an older kid in a place like that made them feel pretty low, 'and i see everyone at school talking about their parents and it's just really embarrassing, especially when they ask questions. i don't like it, its not fair' ashton kissed his forehead and tried to get him to calm down and fall asleep.

luke started crying a little bit and crawled into ashtons lap, where he started to cry himself to sleep. ashton hated that he was doing this, he didnt think anyone should be so emotionally drained that crying is the only way to get to sleep. he laid the boy down on the bed and covered him with blanket before going to sleep himself.
