Alexandria was as normal as any other day. Carl was out doing whatever he was doing, and i was babysitting judith.

He usually comes and helps when ever he's done doing whatever he was doing. 

It was maybe 3 in the afternoon and judith was getting tired. Time to lay her down for a nap.

"come on judy" I said while smiling  widely at her.

she giggled and held her arms at. I picked her up and took her to her room.

"y/n"

"yes?"

"can you tell carl night night when he come back?"

"judy its naptime not bed time" i giggled at her question.

Shes so precious, too pure for this world of terrible things. I picked her up and placed her in her bed, grabbed a blanket, and covered her up. I rubbed her head and smiled.

"y/n can you sing me a song? carl sings to me before i sleep"

i smiled widely at the thought of carl singing. never, ever had i heard carl sing. 

"of course! what song?"

"you are my sunshine!" she giggled and threw her arms in the air. I giggled, "okay"

i sat beside her and pushed her hair out of her face and began singing.

"you are my sunshine, my only sunshine

you make me happy, when skies are gray

You'll never know dear, how much i love you.

please dont take my sunshine aw-"

the door opened and there stood carl

"carl!" she jumped up out of bed and ran to him. Well, shes not going to bed..

"hey judy" he picked her up, walked over, and sat beside me on her bed.

"hey y/n"

"hey carl", i smiled at me

"guess what", judith said in an evil tone. 

"what", carl asked while looking confused.

"now you both have to sing to me!" she exclaimed 

carl looked nervous. My face probably read nervousness all over it. I had never sang in front of anyone besides judith. 

"i dont know judy..", carl started.

"pleeeasseee" 

cral sighed and gave in. "what song?", i asked. 

"you are my sun shine!" she did the same arm motions to the both of us that she did to me earlier.

carl took a deep breath and began

" you are my sunshine, my only sunshine.."

i joined him

"you make me happy, when skies are gray

you'll never know dear, how much i love you"

I looked at carl. I will admit that i like him, but no one except me knows.

We began to sing again, the end of the chorus.

"so please dont take my sunshine away.."

I took a deep breath. Why doesnt carl like to sing?! He sounds amazing!

We both looked over at Judith and she was fast asleep. Carl turned to me. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and blushed.

"sorry you had to hear that"

"dont be, you were awesome", i smiled

he blushed and said, "thanks, you werent too bad yourself"

he had a grin plastered on his face now. i smiled, I really like him.

"so, are we just going to hangout and your sisters rom or are we gonna go downstairs?"

he laughed and shook his head. We walked out of the door and down the hall. i was infront of Carl.

" hey y/n wait for a second"

"what happened did she wake up?", i was confused

"no. i just want to ask you something"

"o-okay" i walked towards him and stopped. I stared at him clueless.

he took a deep breath and got ready to ask his question, "d-do you like me?"

My heart stopped, i blushed and looked down. He lifted my head back up. he stared at me and smiled.

"its okay, you dont have to tell me"

he paused and moved closer to me. We were less than an inch apart.

he began again, " I was just hoping it was a yes because" he paused again and scratched the back of his neck. Bis face twisted up with nervousness.

he took a deep breath, "because i like you too y/n. i have for a long time i was just scared to tell you. I'm not really good at sharing my feeling-"

I cut him off with  my lips. He realised what was happening and kissed me back. He grabbed the back of my head and deepened the kiss.

We pulled away for air. It was silent, but a good silence. We just stood there holding each other.

"Carl... I love you"

He looked at me with..hope?

"i love you too"

He pulled me closer to his chest. "and, i have another question.."

"yes?"

"will you be my girlfriend?"

i smiled, "yes"

He kissed the top of my head. I just realised that we were still in the hallway.

"Can we go down stairs now?"

He shook his head yes while laughing. I smiled at him. We walked downstairs hand in hand. 

It was my dream come true, to have the person I love. I love Carl..
