I was the price you had to pay.

I was the thing you fought against.

I was the devil you had to trick.

I was the result of your wrong pick.

I was the memory you had to lay to rest.

I was the one you cursed your god for.

I was the one who demanded more.

I was the person with who you were obsessed.

I was what was, never to be again.

I was the word you never said.

I was the dragon you needed to slay.

And I was the one defeated today.
