Chapter 18: Change Of Heart

"This isn't the way home." I say as Ma'am is on a different road than the one that takes us home. "Where are we going?"
"We're going to a family reunion." She says smiling brightly. "It was arranged while you were gone."
"What about the dogs?" I ask.
"Don't worry sweetie, they're waiting with the family.
Sometime during the ride I fell asleep. It was a long time on the plane. Ma'am wakes me up and I follow her and there is a group of people standing around. They surround me saying many things but I don't know what's going on too much because I'm still half sleep. But Sir splashes me with a bit of cold water so I can wake up.
"Why is she so tired?" a lady asks.
"She had a long flight home." Ma'am tells her.
"Where did she go that she couldn't be with her family on Christmas?" a man asks.
"She was with her adoptive family." Ma'am says.
"Who are all of you?" I ask looking around.
It's mostly adults and infants around me.
"These are you family." Sir says.
"We've heard much about you Skylar." the lady says. "I'm your Aunt Lulu."
"Nice to meet you." I say. I go to shake her hand but she goes for a hug instead. "I much prefer Soo-Jung."
I meet the rest of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. They tell me to join the younger kids who are also cousins. They younger ones thought I has a funny name while the teenagers asked many things to say in Korean. Everyone loved the dogs and thought they had funny names. I'm glad that I brought my camera because when I was fully awake I recorded some things. With the right edits this would make a good video showing both sides of my family.

We got home and did everything that had to be done for the night. I took my shower, put the dogs to bed, and sent Unique a text saying that I loved him. Before I could settle and get to sleep Sir called me down stairs. We're sitting across from each other in the living room. Ma'am wasn't there it was just me and him in silence. It took about a minute but he finally spoke.
"I wanted to talk to you about what I said about the marriage idea." He huffs.
"You mean when you were very rude to me, my boyfriend, and our friends?" I ask crossing my arms.
"Yes, I'd like to apologize and tell you that I thought about my decision." He says.
"Why? Getting lonely on the uncomfortable couch?" I ask.
"Now you sure respect me because I might change my mind back and not let you get married." He answers.
'What is he thinking?' I thought to myself.
"I want you to finish high school and do at least for years of college." Sir tells me. "If you do all that then I will let you get married."
"Are you serious?" I ask with my mouth open. He answers with a nod yes. "What made you change your mind?"
"I've been talking to Namjoon and he gave some good points, plus people are getting mad at me." He admits. "And this couch is uncomfortable to lay on."
I run up to him hugging him saying thank you many times. He was shocked but hugged back. I think this is the most affection that I shown him since I've been here. We say goodnight and get to bed. Before I fall asleep I did text NamNam thank you because I know part of this was because of him and the others.
