"What on earth are you doing here, Piper?" I growled at her, noticing her pondering around the medic tent. "I told you not to enlist."

"And you get to? That's double standards and you know it." She hisses back at me, fixing up some bandaging on an injured wolf.

"You've always said to me that finding your mate matters. Well you can't bloody well find your mate if your dead, now can you?!" I'm furious. I never wanted to see any of my family members fighting the war. I was protecting them, I'm the eldest, I protect. That's what kept me going since dads death.

Piper, was very much like our mum. Stubborn, but right. I knew she couldn't very well seat back and watch the war from the house. She did like adventures, just as much as I did. But I never intended her to see the war wounds, the blood, the guts, all the things I thought she could never handle. But apparently, mums been not only training me but her as well.

"I can handle myself, you see this coat," she points to her white medic coat, "it protects me. I can't get shot or die from it, Spenny."

"I get that, but things can happen." I help her adjust some bandages. "Look-"

"I NEED A MEDIC OVER HERE!" A shout came from behind me and I knew it was, Major Manning's came rushing in, carrying a body. I peered over and then Piper screamed. I rushed to piper, not caring about the injured wolf. My sister was more important at this time.

"Piper, what's wrong?"

"Mate, I smell my mate." She pushes me away and runs over to the body that's in Major Manning's arms.  I follow her and see that it's my roommate, Gerard.

"What do you mean?" I look at her and then back at him.

"He's my mate, Spenny. I can feel it, my wolfs purring and howling and begging me to fix him." She pushed me away. "I need a room, stat!" She orders around a few standing medics, before taking him to a room. "I'm not going to lose you, when I've only just found you." She whispers to him.

Gerard's hand moves slight and grips onto one of my sisters wrists. "I already... I already love you..."He coughs up some blood and gives her a small smile.

I lean against my car door, watching my former roommate and sister walk down their porch steps. Gerard has his arms wrapped around Piper's waist, the pair are sharing a PDA. Her dress sways in the wind, slightly.

"Hey Roomie, got a spare bed?" I chuckle my aviators onto my car seat and looked a the pair.

Piper came rushing to me, engulfing me into a hug.

"How did you get past the guards?" Gerard asked me, coming up behind my sister and I. He hugged me as well.

"It's good to see you too, Gerard." I smirk at him. "I am a general and some of your guards worked under me. And my sister is your Luna." I counter to him.

The pair let go of our little group hug and then their eyes draw wide. They sniff the air and Piper looks at my neck, adjusting the dress that I was wearing last night at the bonfire. I hadn't bothered to change because I just wanted to get the fuck out of Wolfe Creek and never see Derrick Dalton again. He could be dead for all I know.

"You're not marked." Gerard states.

"That I am not. I'm a free she-wolf." I grab my bags from the back of the car and look at them. "Don't give me that."

"But his your mate, Spenny." Piper uses the nickname I hate and only she can call me that.

I shake my head. "He lost that right the moment he marked someone else. Now, will someone show me to a room or am I not welcomed?"
