I wake up to loudass laughing. I slowly raise up and see Caliyah and Jayden aren't next to me. Throwing my legs over the edge of the bed I get up and walk to all the noise. "Auntie Cay! You still here!" The girls run to me. "Hey my babies."

"That's yo lil girl?" One asks. "She look like Uncle Jr duh that's they baby." I laugh. "Yes that's our daughter. Her name is Caliyah."

"Ou I like that name."

"Girls go change clothes so we can get ready to go. What's up Cay?"

"Hey Kim! Where are my two at?" I ask still not seeing their heads. "In the living room with T and Jr." I nod my head and make my way to the living room. "So who is that?" I hear Jayden asking. "That's me as a kid, yo Uncle T, and the Uncle in the sky."

I peak my head around the wall and see Jayden and Caliyah snuggled up on each side of Jr. as they look at a photo album. "Why is he in the sky?" Caliyah asks. "Some stuff happened and he got killed."

"Would you let someone kill us?" She asks. I walk inside clearing my throat. My children are so stuck on Jr awaiting his answer they don't look my way. "No I wouldn't." He finally says then looks up at me, "Good morning."

"Morning." I respond back taking a seat across from them. "Mommy we saw you when you were a teenager." Caliyah says walking to me. "You did ?" I ask.

"Yes. We saw daddy too." I do a half smile. "Uncle Jr why you staring at Auntie Cay so hard?" I turn my head and instead of him looking away it's like he's froze.

"Okayyyy." I say getting up. "Come here Cay." He says. "Girls take your cousins to the back and play." His nieces walk in and grab Jay and Cay hands and they all walk to the back.

I turn back to face him. "What's up?"

"Come Sit. Take a seat next to me." He says patting down on the sofa. "Jr say what you gotta say so I can go eat breakfast."

"Let me take you out... and before you say anything T and T and Kim and her nigga coming."

"Sure Jr."

"I wasn't expecting that, you use to hesitate with everything."

"It's just dinner Jr." I say plainly, "And I haven't had a chance to hang with them since I've been here."

"Cool." He says getting up.

"Mommy, can I come?" Caliyah asks. "No baby girl. This is just the adults going."

"Is daddy going with you?"

"Yes and you aunts and uncle. You and Jayden and your cousins will be here with your big cousin Mya."

"But I don't know her." She whispers. I laugh, "She's family baby. I wouldn't leave you here if it wasn't safe."

"Okay mommy but can Uncle Rico come just in case."

"Uncle Rico might be busy. I'll call him and see."

She fell in love with her Uncle Rico since the other day. She hasn't stopped asking me about him. I grab my phone and hit Rico's name.

"What's up Cay?"

"Hey, are you busy?"

"Nah just got in from running some errands.."

"Oh well if you aren't busy tonight do you mind coming over? The adults are about to go out and Jr's lil cousin is watch my kids and Kim's girls . Caliyah wants you here with them."

"I'm on my way."

I laugh, "Okay."

We hang up and I assumed Caliyah walked out but she was still standing there. "What did he say?" She asks. "He's on his way."

"Who coming?" Jr asks. "Caliyah wants Rico over while we're out."

"Good. Mya ain't gone be able to sneak no lil boy in here."

"She is grown and I'm sure it's not a little boy."

"Ask me do I care about any of that?" Jr says with a smirk. "I already know you don't, but still." I say.

"You bout ready?" He asks. I look at him then back to myself to finish straightening my hair. "Yes Jr."

"I'm just asking Casha."

"But don't it look like it?" I ask. "Don't get smart."

"I'm just asking Jr." I mock. "Alright." He says in a casual tone. He leaves me be to tend to my hair. I finish up, get the kids settled and head out the door.

I sit looking out the window while Jr drives. I haven't been out like this in forever. Everything still looks the same here. Nothing has really changed, not even this feeling of being here with Jr. I know we're just getting back in good terms after so long but there isn't a feeling a newness. It feels regular. His phone ringing catches my attention.

"Hello.... This who?.... Oh, Ashley, what's up?  told me bout you... Yeah I got you... I'm busy right now but I'll bring it later.... Cool." He hangs up and suddenly I'm questioning who Ashley and what is he taking her. He ain't been out that long but then again I don't know what he might been doing before he popped in.

"We here." He says. I look around and see a bunch of people on the pier with festive lights and hear the sound of music. "This was T idea, wasn't it?" I ask laughing. "You already know." I shake my head.

We walk up the steps and up the strip of the pier. "You look nice, in case I didn't tell you."

"Thank you Jr. you cleaned up well." I say looking at his fit from his to shoes to his shirt. "I still got it, huh?"

"Yeah you do."

"What's up?!?" T yells. He's already had some drinks, I can smell it on his breath. "What's up?"

We sit down after to speaking and hugging everyone. "Girl those shoes are hot. I need them!" Kim says. "Thanks boo. Y'all ordered yet? I'm starving?"

"So we ordered already not too long ago but Jr told us what y'all wanted. The food should be here soon."

"Cool." I say.

"I ordered shots though. Take one Cay. Everybody get one." T says. We all grab one and down the shot.

After eating and having a few more drinks, it was safe to say everyone was a bit toasty. I get up and walk over to the railing to look over the ocean. Jr gets up and follows me.

"It feels good." He says sitting his arms around my shoulder. "It does." I agree back. Truthfully I don't know what he's referring too but everything feels good to me at this point, from the breeze off the water to standing here with him.

"I can't believe I missed out on so much. Our kids are so smart and look good. They're healthy and happy. I can only thank you for that Cay."

"It wasn't easy but someone had to do it. All of that could've been avoided if you would've just listened to me."

"You right. I'm sorry again. As usual I should've just listened." I laugh, "Sarcastic much?" He laughs. "Nah but really though."

"I hear you Jr." I lean my head back against his chest. "This doesn't feel like it's happening to fast?" I ask. "It feels how it should be."

"I know but a month ago you hated me and I didn't care for you and now we're back in each other arms as if shit never happened."

"I guess we're meant to be."

"But we've been down this road before, multiple times, Jr."

"The circumstances are different this time. I'm different. You're different, I'm willing to stick it out and try one last time if you are. We've done this before but never in this space. This is a good place for us."

"I just- My life isn't here anymore. What are you going to do when it's time for me and the kids to go back?"
